I finally got all the bugs worked out of my car, one of which was my map sensor. So I'm looking for a new 3 or 4 bar. I see a number of things on ebay for $20-$30, and the name brand sensors are more like 100. anyone have any experience with the cheap sensors? Something tells me they are probably just crappy knock off parts. This ain't a part I really want to cheap out on, but I am cheap bastard so I kinda do.

Either make your own : http://www.realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/index.php/topic,649.0.html (http://www.realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/index.php/topic,649.0.html)
Done this myself not hard, had to do two. The first is what affected my outcome at the first PNW Fluffy Crew Meet I went to. (see my build thread)
Or get one form HiProfile http://www.realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/index.php/topic,15832.0.html (http://www.realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/index.php/topic,15832.0.html)
My latest setup has a 4bar, Jeff build works well. :noel:
Or overpay through ebay, hondata, xenocron, or others. :noel:

That denmah dude swears by the cheap 3bar GM sensors on ebay. I think he gets them from EFI source or EFI connection or something.
HiProfile gave me this link when I bugged him for some map sensors last: http://www.ebay.com/itm/320807653974?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/320807653974?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649)

I made my last one with a 3 bar Motorola, in a stock housing, grey permatex filled. It started to short out somehow, even though I know i did a good job filling it with grey permatex, and soldering it. I had got my sensor when xenocron shipped it to me by mistake years ago and never asked for it back.

I'm running a used onmi power knock off of the gm 3 bar. Its been working out for me fairly decently.

Hi profile doesn't make them any more. The cheap $24.xx one on eBay work great
-
I got a 4bar from Tim a couple years ago. Works fine and looks completely untouched. Super sleeper.
-
I'll still make em if anyone needs one
Have a few 3 and 4 bars here ready to solder and a bunch of hollowed housings
-
Auberins.com is an alternative for next day (to me, anyway, they are in ATL) generic GM cased 3+ BAR MAP.
-
JDs hodge poge 4 bar fuckery lives on in the slut
-
I went the $10 route and got a freescale 3 bar.
