Title: Gm8 turbo help run external wg
Post by: Ejalex90 on February 01, 2014, 05:19:41 PM: So I picked up a gm8 borg warner turbo off my
Buddy for cheap anyways theere internally waste gated and I want to run a external wg. Do I have to just plug (refer to second picture) and tack a peice where the internal wg was then just mount to manifold and run external wg.. Also do I need a fitting on the compressor side for vaccume at all? Any info would help and I will be using this on a k20z3 dd si.. Aiming for 350whp

3. Yes, secure the internal wg shut. Weld, tie the flapper shut, do what you gotta do. Run external, get vacuum from IM or compressor housing but IM will be referencing the same boost level as map sensor.

Anyways, if I can jus drill and tap compressor housing n put a fitting on it, then it'll be good to go? I feel I'm making this harder than it is lol I tried uploading pics but says file to large..
