Title: Moving to WA
Post by: Eggylshatch on May 08, 2009, 05:52:42 PM
Well I'm turning to the dark side.  I landed a job with the park service in Olympic and Rainier National Parks and will be living in Rainier for the at least the summer, moving in next weekend.  I just saw the post for the Dyno day up there, but I think I'll be working then.  The friggen amazing part about this job is that I'll be working 8, ten hour days followed by 6 days off.  That being said, I'm not far from Seattle and would like to get to know some of you NW asshats.  I'm driving a stock 95 civic hatch with an automatic d15b8, and I want to change that this summer with an auto to manual swap and a b18b.  What could I score an engine and tranny for around those parts?  I actually wouldn't necessarily need a tranny, but I would have to have my other tranny shipped out to me from Buffalo.  Well, hollerrrr back at me, and let me know whose garage is going to be the base for my engine swap, bitches.

Love always,
Evan

PS.  My girlfriend will be living/working in the same park, and she is hot, and I promise to bring her to all HMT functions I attend if at all possible.

I'll be doing vegetation mapping.  Sounds lame I'm sure, but it will involve mapping larger scale community types in a lot of more remote or at least little frequented areas.  It'll be at Olympic until about July while Rainier melts out more, and the rest of the summer through september at Rainier.  I'm pretty excited to be up there, never been to the PNW before, and definitely going to climb that bitch of a volcano while I'm there

Even if boost is in my future?  I always thought the b20's had thinner walls and itd be better to stay b18 for boost.  what does a gaydm b20 swap go for? $1k?

Sorry for the noob hazing. Just trying to have a little fun.

Jdm b20 swaps aren't expensive. I paid 450 for a b20 engine from a jdm dude out here. Yank a hydro trans for 100 with linkage and shit like that and be done. B18a/b's have way too much mileage as chris stated.

B20s dont have thinner sleeves they have weaker sleeves.

and up to 300whp with good tuning they will be fine...

hahaha I'm still here, but only for a few days.  I'm sorry, I've failed you.  If it helps any, my car is registered/plated in CO, and where I am there is no required vehicle inspection.  YEE.

Negative, I've been in Colorado.  I like the state a lot, but definitely ready to check out the PNW.

And this is all you're getting for now.  Actually sadly I don't have anything too risque, I think she's nervous about what I might do with the pictures  ;)
