Title: CV Axles

So this weekend i snapped my CV Axles on the Autobahn. I have been doing some research on new ones but they seem to be far and few between. I'm looking to see what you guys are running for aftermarket CV Axles, but im pretty sure with how cheap everyone is they are running the vatozone specials.

explain what you were doing....because if I'm right, new axles will not fix the problem.

I have OEM axles and i busted a boot and i have the wonder stretching sound, plus a large vibration when i accelerate. I just had the wheels re-balanced, so i know that's not the issue. I don't have any bubbles in my tires either. After the i dynoed 450whp i turned the boost up got new cams and fixed the exhaust. I know I'm over 500.

Are they from acura or the auto parts store? How old are they? How many miles on them? I would probably Just replace it with a oem unit.

they are the stock ones that came with the car. its a 1999 and only 110k

So your boot spilt you lost all the grease and it vibrates now? Probably old dried up boots. I would just go oem. Lots of people making alot more power and beating there cars alot harder than you on stock axles. I was making 435 hp 330tq. and running stock axles and daily driving it at that power level. And I drove it like I stole it. Never had a problem.

Well then I will look into stock from Honda, also just thinking a lot of my hoses were dried up after the boat trip. I just looked at my cv boots and they look great, but I do have lots of grinding and the vibration. I might just buy the after market ones and not worry about it at all.

I cant seem to find a part number for the stock acura cv axles, or where to get them since i need to do it online. Can you hook me up?

I think i will call an acura dealership today as well, since it looks like its going to be 300 plus shipping for remanufactured axles and like 600 plus shipping for new. I would be better off buying them from driveshaft shop. There LVL 0 is only 350 plus shipping and there lvl 2.9 is rated at 475 hp for 800. DSS usings thicker axles and stronger material.

How low is the car?

By Autobahn I figured you meant the racetrack.

DA/DC's too low will eat axles when road racing, need at least 5.5" of ride height at the rocker panel depending on spring rates and rear bar selection.

I'm currently stationed in Germany, so the Autobahn is teh highway system over here. Also i cant remeber what the hieght to the rocker arm is but if i remeber right its 24" or 23" to the top of the fender well. I cant remeber off the top of my head. I destroyed the inner bearing since if vibrates something vierce when i get above 40 mph.
