It still free spins, You just have to pedal backwards or it will lock in the one way and it will make you spin backwards anyways.

with a normal freewheel hub you have to pedal backwards if you are moving backwards.
you can pedal backwards as fast as you want, but not slower than the wheel is turning.

don't know if freewheel is the word i'm looking for, it's been years since i've played with bikes
