like most other people i was surprised when i found that hmt had been drastically changed and i was banned. i didn't even know what i was banned for or that hmt was for sale to begin with. i guess that is what i get for only really spending time in the fab forum.
shortly after the change i recieved an email from one of the members who i have a great deal of respect for, telling me that my sponsor forum was removed. that didn't really bother me too much. i went through the same thing when h-t was sold to ib. no biggie. i'm having kamil make me up a new website anyway, so hopefully i'll get more traffic on it.
anyway, shortly after i got the first email, i got an email from chris, asking for my phone# so he could call me. within 15 minutes of my response xenocron had called me to find out what was going on with me being banned. we talked briefly about hmt and why he sold it. his biggest concern was that i had been banned and my vendor thread was removed. i felt bad for chris, but wasn't mad at him. everyone makes mistakes. EVERYONE. i made a serious mistake when i dealt with the douche bags at PUR. when i made that mistake everyone on hmt backed me up. i've never felt more a part of any other forum i'm on than hmt. i've never been on any other forum as long as i have hmt. when everything changed it was a tough pill to swallow, but i can move on. that is something i've learned to do in my old age now. it isn't worth the stress... i get enough from my wife. :P
anyway, my point is, chris knows he fucked up. he made the effort to call me to make things right for me since i was a forum sponsor. if he could make things right for the whole community i'm sure he would. i'm not happy with what happened, but i can forgive him. he has been a very important member to hmt.
later in the day i got a phone call from rickp. chris had given him my # and encouraged him to call me to get things straightened out. i told him i'd like to at the very least to let my current sponsor subscription run out and see if it is worth it for me to continue sponsoring the forum. at this moment, i don't see it happening. i don't intend to spend much time there other than to check pm's. rick made it very clear to me he has a zero tolerance policy, and that he doesn't give a shit about the membership. i'm part of that membership and i'm sure i'll be banned eventually.
hmt wasn't about a forum's name. it is about a group of assholes who respect each other and don't let people fuck with them. if you want to be part of that group, you need to earn their respect, not just buy their website and turn shit upside down.
i'm just glad that this has all been created so i can still be a part of that group.

Weir I respect the fact that you posted what you did out of respect and recognized fromthe get go that you and that Xenofaggot made a mistake.
But you didnt sell every member on HMT out and you didnt modify other members/sponsors profiles to disrespect them and or BAN then them come back and say your sorry for leaving out and sellin out on family

I honestly think chris is only regretting doing this because he realises it's going to hurt his business.
And that is the power of the internet. Amazing how many of us visit other forums, and the word of Chris' doing spreads like wild fire, giving him a bad taste in your mouth.
When Josh (hotsex) called me, we had a good 45 min chat of how we've spent the past 6 years on HMT. If you added up the hours, it would be a lot of days 24/7 glued to a computer monitor.

Screw xeno, if he gave two shits about the community he would have discussed it with at least the elite og. I'm sure they would have found a way to take it off his hands. At the end of the day he made a business decision and now has realized it was a shitty one.

I under stand where Weir is comming from i may not have been a big part of OG-HMT but ive been on the site since 05 the day Xeno took over i noticed alot of new H-T like sponcers as well as new users it was like a 85-15% split Rick P could never had tammed our crew so Yes he is a bitch for banning the 85% of us i didnt know shit about any of the sponsers till i joined OG-HMT. I never could have built my first kit let alone have taken on the task of building a motor my self and tuning it. I do feel bad for Xeno but it shows people let $$$ cloud there brain. He said he made his own busness what it was but most of you will recall the WTB he had for reviews that was bumped from the grave by J/D He was asking the members of HMT to help him expand Without you guys he wouldnt be shit now without all of us he wont be shit. I Can say he has always been a POS ive had endless pm's from him helping me get my tuning on track but shit in the Hand that fed him now he will regret it.

I am seriously making it my mission in life to do some kind of tech project and take pics to post this week or next. Just going to aim for something informative for newbs yet convenient reference for veterans.
If anything at least to satisfy the overwhelming urge to contribute SOMETHING of substance and value to the people/place I was reminded how much I appreciate.
Rick PM'd me about my first post ending in "good luck, don't fuck up"
I replied with a I'm sure boringly long, very detailed, tactful, professional, diplomatic and respectful letter. It had to be broken into 2 parts,for exceeding the character limit for PM's and I think I spent 2 hours writing it.
Not that I really thought it would change anything but I felt obligated to do my absolute best in my own way to make sure he knew to what extent and magnitude his actions were having and a thorough explanation as to why.
My post count may be low and I may have only been around a few years, but I assure you if a count was kept of threads read and time reading them it would rival time spent studying by an open heart surgeon.
