You seem to come up with some great shit. :noel: good work
-
Cover those leads good ;)
Canadian weather with eat through everything.
-
I like this alot better than in the trunk!! To bad mine is already there, Jump starting it should be kinda fun ;D
-
Pretty nice actually, but i would think it'd be a bitch for when you need a jump..
-
you might THINK it would be a bitch, but thats because you cant see that the positive terminal is accessible through the engine bay.
but that isn't anyones fault now is it. ;D
but lets just say the terminal wasnt accessible... then just run a lead into the bay and cover it till you need a jump. kinda like how they do it on most domestics that have a hidden battery.
the tie down kit is pretty sweet. im gonna drill the holes and mount it up today. i hope i wont even have to extend the leads. we will see.
-
got the positive wire extended. the ground just fits without extension.
plus the princess auto tie down kit. true

looks good. inexpensive way to make room in ED engine bays
-
goop the shit out the leads keeps the moisture and salts out.
I usually use lithium base grease (bearing greese or something thicker)

petrolium jelly.
also, put in a circuit breaker thats about 250 amps in there so that if a positive wire gets pinched to the chasis in an accident, you dont get a horrible fire.
-
i did this a year ago.i had problems getting the bumper lightbulb in the socket.no big deal.just an extra fab.
-
the battery is a little weak. im not too impressed. i might look into something else.
-
That sucks man I was hoping for a good outcome. :-\

well it works fine but if u crank it for a good 20 seconds it needs a jump...
ie, when i went to prime the motor it didnt have the juice to get it done.
but now that the car runs it starts it up every time. worth the $40 thats for sure. (till it lets me down in the middle of the night 3 hours away from home... lol)
but yeah, the beast runs!!!!!!!
-
Yeah, I'm sure an aircraft battery is amazing, but whats the pricetag like?
-
phil stubbs gets used airplane batteries for cheap hit him up he might have what your looking for
-
i used to have a link to a place that sold the same spoon and other jdm batteries for $50
i can't find that link to save my life.
the only difference in these batteries was they didn't have a post, you had to screw the cables to them. if that makes sense
do you mean like a side post battery?
-
took the car for a rip around the block and it died on me for unknown reasons and didnt want to start again... (eventually got it started again, weird thing was i didnt change anything...)
the battery died pretty quick trying to crank it over... so i might be looking to upgrade. i would hate to get stranded after cranking the battery for only 20 seconds or so.
and its a honda, so we know the dizzy is going to die sooner or later. lol
does anyone know if the fuel pump still primes if you have a bad main relay? im trying to figure out this starting issue. my fuel pump primes fine, every time.
funny story, the car wouldnt start, so i ran a test lead into the car to check for spark and then it started fine on 3 cylinders. lol. strange strange world.
-
the fuel pump won't do anything if the main relay is bad
cool... car started to co-operate today.. beats me. ???
-
update: repinned wire in the dizzy harness was loose. fixed that, no more problems
battery is working great. starts the car no problem every time.
i would say go for it if you are looking for something cheap.
-
Wouldnt that be bad if you hit something?
-
a friend of mine did the same thing on his crx but use a battery about the size of the smaller battery posted above. think the battery was about 100 or so, not sure what kind or where he got it though.

so battery is working good now?
also the tabs that are bolted to the frame rail, are those bolt holes already there or did you have to drill them out and put nuts on the end of the bolts?
they are already there. the only tricky part is mocking it up and getting the angles right.
-
so its been a while since this was installed... its working surprisingly well
havent had one issue so far except how much of a bitch it is to remove the positive terminal. i have an extra main fuse in the glove box just in case lol. (will wire in a kill switch to make things easier one day... or just relocate the battery inside, idk..)
battery works well enough to let the dual rad fans and heater core fan run for 20 minutes between passes at the track and still start the car.
i would recommend this to all RHMT nogs on a budget

Like to see how it reacts in winter

summer only car. :P
-
i ran the same battery type of battery in 3 of my hondas. all of them could sit for a week and start right up no problem in the dead of winter. its amazing how well they actually work for a lawnmower battery.
