Title: OBD1 ZC conversion
Post by: Avistar23 on May 17, 2009, 10:32:04 PM
Ive got a buddy who wants to put a chipped obd1 ecu in his ZC, the harness has been converted to MPFI, if we put a conversion harness on with 4 wire 02 sensor will that be all that is needed? will he have to swap to a OBD1 Dizzy, not to familiar with what is needed for this setup.

Yeh its DOHC, we dont have any US parts here, only JDM on the island, whats the likely hood of finding a JDM OBD1 dizzy? Could we modify any to fit?

AFAIK there are oBD1 dohc zc's, but they're EDM from Rovers. I would assume any d-series obd1 dizzy would work, with the exception of the mounting ears lining up. Most of the people here are american, and dohc zc's are very uncommon - few people would really know off the top of their head what jdm parts would work.

h22 dizzys with internal coil should work, even though only 2 mounting holes line up.

let me know tomorrow to take pics of the H22 dizzy on my ZC.
The firewall bolt hole and the bottom bolt hole match up perfectly, the top mounting hole is off by about 1/4". There's no reason why it shouldn't work and that's what I'm gonna run. Let me know if you want a couple pics of it.
