Title: Need some help Fuel related
Post by: glustic on May 18, 2009, 04:20:46 PM
So I got my car all put back together, started it up first try. I drove it around for about a mile or so, wasn't building boost. I was trying to figure out where my leak was (my turbo sounds like a supercharger) I turned the key off, came back and the fucker wont start. Checked plug wires, fucking things fell apart. Bought new wires, I have spark. Checked my wiring for the resistor box, and on the harness the left side is positive and the right side is negative (backwards) Yes I have a resistor box. Here is a picture of how it is setup.

Any ideas? I need to get my shit running

double check injector wiring.

is the fuel pump priming?

check grounds

I dont know whats going on, I was on the phone with you earlier and it just sounded like you had a boost leak.

how much gas is in the car?

Yes the fuel pump primes. I checked over my resistor box wiring, its exactly like the diagram shows, I cut the yellow/black stripe put all 4 that go into the ecu into the red wire on my resistor box, and then wired each yellow/black stripe wire that goes into the injector clip into each of the 4 black wires on the resistor box.

Has a half a tank of gas. I do still have a boost leak, but now my car wont start

check dizzy timing, I've had cars where it was to retarded and it wouldn't start and just seemed to flood the engine

I have no injector pulse. The yellow/black wire lights up when key is on and the light tester is grounded. using the other side as a ground (whether it be yellow blue red or brown) it doesnt ground on that side.

I tried switching to the stock ECU to see if it would start and no luck... I have no engine light.

I have spark.

Recheck your connections for your resistor box.

And if you had to splice injector clips in make sure you wired them right.

I did, all seems fine. I just dont see how my car can start up, I drive it for a mile, turn the key off and blam no fuel.
I had to splice in the clips, they are wired so the yellow/black stripe wire is ground, and the other side positive.

i know you said half a tank of gas, but could it be out of gas  :?:

i think i remember reading that the pickup on the walbros wasn't long enough or some shit.
don't know if that was with all the walbros or just the xenofaggot ones

I remember seeing the fuel level about where that brace is inside the fuel tank

ostrich took a shit?

Its brand new.. I wrote and verified to it a few times, plus the car should start with the stock ecu.

any blown fuses or fuel relay clicking noise?

Havent check all the fuses, only the select ones in the engine bay. What other fuse should I check? I was gonna go on all data and pull up which fuses are for what.

Does your inj. harness plugs still have their metal spring locks?

I don't believe so. Thing is we used a tester to see if the clips would pulse and they didn't yesterday.

Check the underdash fuses. There are a few over there that won't let you car start when blown. Just pull them all out one by one and if it's good put it back to where you took it out of. Should only take like 2 mins.
I had a fuse blow there and car also wouldn't start.

I was going to check the fuses, but like I said my car started up no problem this morning. All I did was plug in the injector harness in.

yeah ususally your car starts great then a fuse blows and it won't start anymore.
i'd check the fuses. all of them.

Thats the thing man... It started up fine all day long. The fuse cant un-blow it self...
