Post by: walter on May 21, 2009, 10:38:29 AM
I tried to boost my DOHC ZC, but it has a fucket thread on block, i tried to install ARP and i cant install one correctly, it had (Helicoi) im not sure how it's called in english.

this is what i means.

There mounts work great i have them with a 95a hardness in my coupe. As far as the conversion kit my buddy had one in his ek with the b16 cable trans and he never had a problem

Next time, don't put helicoils into block. Timeserts are awesome for that shit.

If helicoil repair was attempted, you would run an oversize timesert to fix the issue.
You just need to make sure that the inside thread for the stud/bolt is correct,
Then you just drill, and make your thread with a tap for the outside.
I believe stock thread for that motor would be 11X1.5MM, but im not sure on that.

yeah, i was looking info about time serts and even they sell speial repair kit for Honda head bolts, but it cost like +400$

not sure what i will do, but i  will try to fix it myself since i want not to remove all block. pistons and other shit...

I had an early set of steel innovate mounts for my old LS swap in my 90 si.  The driver side mount sagged a bit.  I replaced them with the run-of-the-mill $90 ebay set and those held up 10x better with no sag.  Maybe they changed the design since then?
