Just worked on my neighbors auto A/C last night. Hes been fucking hounding me for about a month now to fix his shit and I finally crumbled. Its a 97 Cavaquer.... He said his compressor was shot and picked up a used one w/ warranty on ebay to swap. Put the fucker on and filled the system w/ synthetic refrigerant. Ran the car at idle for about 15 mins w/ ac on full blast (felt cool, not cold) and then I dropped it off. He just shot me a text 1 hour ago that said its blowing hot air? WTF? The comp clutch is engaging as i can here it and I checked for leaks after w/ a black light and nothing? Anyone know what it could be?

isnt the system supposed to be under vacuum as refrigerant is being put it?

+1 Air and moisture in the system is not good. I've never used the synthetic shit, so I can't comment on its performance.

God damn it! First time Ive actually ever put an AC comp in... Ive always taken them out. So where do I purge... or how do i build up a vacuum. Do I just run it full blast first then fill?

Uh... Read up on A/C stuff. You have to evacuate the system. You have contamination. Try again.

need to do like 29.x of vac on hondas, specail machine the hooks vac to bottom of ac system and pumps refrigerant in at top
bottom line, go to shop for a proper refill

to properly fix ac.
-remove all 134 from system.
-hit with 250lbs nitrogen.
-check for leaks by any psi drop and soapy water.
-replace accumulator/reciever dryer.
-install spec. amount.
-have ac gauges hooked up while running ac at full bore.
-check pressures and make sure there within spec ( i have charts if needed)
-also depending on how your ac system is routed, make sure you dont have coolant flowing through your heater core. could be various problems making this happen depending on system. but its a start if everything else is in spec.
