Is the blue from heat or a coating?

I'd say bent rod

It's an oem bearing, black colour, and all 4 rods are the same.  It looks like there are 3 or 4 layers, the copper coloured one is the deepest wear.

thrust fucked up?

Seen some so worn out, when you hit the clutch, the crank would move almost 1/4 inch and throw the belt depending on the rpm

DING DING DING...  fuck i was hoping for this to be a multiple page guesswork..

the thrust wore out and spun out of it's channel, and then the crank met the block and main cap and wore each other out.  The funny thing is that since the thrust washer spun and jammed, there was very little endplay.  The rod jammed against the piston side and tweaked the reciprocating ass'y sideways.

here's your $5

lol.  You didn't specify all bearings looked like that from the start.

I had seen an engine that had bearings like the ones you pictured, it had hydrolocked and bent a rod, still ran.
