So, after I parted out my shitbox Tercel I needed to make somthing fastish again.
I got this thing for free from a broad I worked with. 1991 Accord EX-R sedan, 5spd.
Ive been collecting the parts for it for the last few months. Trying to get decent stuff instead of just grabbing random shit (like the tercel).
I seem to think I have everything I need for it now. Aaron said we can do the install at his shop since I was going to get him to do the chargepipes for me ... and .... well... hes probably a far sight better then me at this.
Parts are as follows
* Volvo T3 (internal wastegate)
* Peirsburg adjustable BOV
* WEIR Manifold
* WEIR Chargepipes
* Stealthmode oil lines
* DSM 450's
* Chipped P06 Crome (w/basemap)
* FMIC
* Ebay vac manifold
* VDO International boost gauge (made a gauge holder to go in one of the center vents)
Any thoughts or sugestions on what Ive got there ?
-
Any picts. ;D
You just looking at making 300hp?
Maybe a clutch? ;D
-
I was thinking a clutch would be in order ...
Il just rock the stock one till it fails. It was put in ... along with a timing belt/water pump... like a month before I got it.
Il see if I cant get a few pics of the parts tonight :yes:
-
you need a larger turbo for the f22. and a clutch for sure. It won't even make one pull and hold on the stock one.

Think the Volvo one is OK at least short term?
I can probably get ahold of a Nissan 300zx T3 for like $60.
I didnt think the stock clutch would be THAT short lived .... recomendations?

ebay 57 trimmer and a xtd stg 3 clutch both ebay snipage

Perfect, thanks !
-
ebay 57 trimmer
ANy JY alternative??
-
i would def. go with a bigger turbo, i have a feeling the one you have is going to have too much backpressure and choke the motor on top.
the only real JY alternative i can think of would be HY/HX35...
or just spend the couple hundred and get the ebay 57 trim, it worked pretty good in my car, it was what i had before the holslut.
im also running the XTD stage 3, has yet to slip and i beat the cock off it before the main brng went...
-
dont forget a few tubes of jb weld for the surprises that WILL come up

Whan you have a car as nice as mine.... you ALWAYS have JB weld around, ha ha ha. Ive got 4 tubes (2 sets) that I can think of off hand.

thats the kind of endorsment I like
-
I had the XTD stage 3 in the f setup as well... Lated a year then slipped the FIRST pass on slicks... It was done after that... Get the stage 5 one they have available if youre going for 3 (as youll make more than 5300 Tq) or youll be sorry later, especially since they are so cheap. I dont have any other complaint oyther thna that though. Worked for me
-
I had 2 XTD clutches. They were both shit and slipped.
-
I'd just go ahead and get an LSD clutch. THey're like $300.
But you definitely want a larger turbo. Try your hardest to get a hold of a holset.
You're one lucky sob though. You get some love from Weir, bastard. be sure to post pics of all your shit nig.
-
Il take a few pics of my junk collection tonight or tomorow.

DONE AND DONE ..... no shaft play, and free no less !!!!!!! :yes: :yes: :yes:
I want to say it an HX35 ... but Il get a pic of it.

Dont I fucking know it !!!!!
-
I cant wate to see the build thred on this....
-
It all depends on what your power goals are. If you want BIG power, get a BIGGER turbo. If you want real good LOW END power, then keep the turbo you have or get a smaller turbo.
-
i now change my suggestion on the clutch, i have a hx35 and the XTD stage 3, the clutch never slipped but it looks like it didnt take the abuse well... it had 1100 miles on it.... im now looking for a more suitable replacement.

LSD clutches are very nice...I loved my first one..
nothing happened to it, I didn' properly break it in,
so I replaced it. But it was killer.
I had a stock clutch with a F22 14B and it was toast right after the tuning session with joser (d112crzy)
so def good to upgrade. LSD for the win. Some good clutches!
-
shit, how do you break it in? different than any other clutch or same shit?
-
He didn't, lol.
-
yah I was addicted to boost. and couldn't resist.
so i got clutch chatter.
but yah break it in 500 city miles!
-
Sell me the T3 for my B16... and step up to a HX35.

nice like the VC hahaha
on the clutch, i would recomend you get their "stage 4" pressure plate with the stage 3 disk, the stg3 plate is just the stocer painted red, the stg4 seems to be a bit stiffer

Cool ... Ive got a clutch I bought from them that I didnt use for a TOyota project so Ive got that to exchange... thats the main reason I would be going with that brand.

Buy one at http://lsdmotorsports.com/ (http://lsdmotorsports.com/). At least you know you don't buy repainted stock part.
