That's the first and only clean pass he's made.  It'll run some 6.50's, no wheelie bars, and off of the small 24.5" tire.

I'd like to see you throw anything together that runs a flat 8 it's first time at the track.  Hold up, I'd like to see you field anything with a turbo that you built with your own two hands.  (https://realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.realhomemadeturbo.com%2Fforum%2FSmileys%2Fclassic%2Frolleyes.gif&hash=5805137b67db00abde932177bc58b11cc93be8c2)

Joseph did you walk past the camara at the 20 second mark??????   ;)

Specs? P.S that Z is a disgrace.

84.5mm ITR
62-1
1000cc injectors
15 psi wastegate ramping to 26 psi in third gear
4.05 FD
24.5" tire
Clump of dirt under the pass tire to get rid of pesky unneeded traction

The Z is actually pretty stout for a nearly stock car.  The guy who owns it had it on slicks earlier in the night, it ran some ?8.30's? but was super squirrelly at the far end of the track.  He was really launching it hard, especially with how fragile those things are.

No, that's Art.  He has hair but prefers to shave his head when he's called in for a tour of duty.

That's not running, and we doubt you can pull off the running + turbo bit.

Looking good,

Car looks like to going to leave really well, looked like a 1.78 60 in the vid.  Is it using the launch techinque we spoke about before??

You mean the stage and leave on the clump of dirt technique?

Not recalling what technique you mentioned?

We were talking about leaving the line using less boost, so the tires don't blow off.

Oh, you mean the launch technique Palo told me about way back.  It's leaving at 7-8 psi on this turbo with some wheelspin.  This tire/gearing in the CRX with that funky 60-1 it was eating 20 psi and bogging (shitty turbo).  The alignment still isn't perfect, so where it ends up is anyone's guess.

1/8th miles are kin to premature ejaculation.

If you can't get through the 1/8th then your 1/4 sucks.

What are you guy's doing to keep the nose from lifting?  The back doesn't squat either.

Is the new surface pretty smooth?
Title: Re: Street tune
Post by: Joseph Davis on June 14, 2009, 01:40:21 PM
The new surface is a lot smoother, but rubber's not laid fully into the track yet.  Ronnie also doesn't VHT the track for test and tunes like he does for the $$$$ Outlaw races, so all in all the track is still a slow one.  When the old CRX was running those times and traps at SS it did some 6.8's at 111-112 at Rockingham.

Also, suspension is PIC, and it limits the suspension travel in the coilover.  It has too much rebound up front and some other problems that need attended to but all in all the car's coming together.
