Title: Credit question - wife fucked up on her credit card

So, she has her card and I don't fuck with it.  It's her deal. 

She thought the cutoff date was the payment due date... well the due date was 6/6, cutoff for the next statement is 6/12.  She has been assessed a late fee since she just paid today.  We have 2 bank accounts and 2 credit cards with Chase, all in good standing.  I called them and asked them to not report the late payment.  They said they couldnt.  Is that true?

whats the big deal with one late payment? if you been good and have paid shit on time, i figure one late payment is nothing.


and its not her cc, its also yours. married=shared credit, but you know that.

Who gives a fuck? You could have a credit score of 2000 TODAY and not get a loan for a daewoo. It'll be that way for a while, so don't sweat those fucks.

idk why you didnt just request that "as a good customer" you have the late fee removed in the first place. I've done that like 4 times now haha, one payment was like 3 days late, the rest have been weeks overdue.

Yeah, I figure 1 late payment won't do much.... it's just irritating.  First blemish on a perfect record.

I was with WaMu since '91 so I figured they'd give me a break for being a good customer.  Chase can beerbong a huge load elephant jizz.

you usually have to be delinquent for over 30 days before it gets reported.  A few days isn't gonna really hurt cha none.  that is if I remember right.  I haven't paid bills in a while.

We were toying with the idea of refinancing the house... we're at a 6.5% rate with just her name on the place.  I'm thinking we could get under 5%.   :-\

Complete bullshit 8)  Credit bureaus are 3rd party companies that don't have to do a damn thing, and none of the companies have to report anything either.

My wife works for Equadata.  One late payment CAN effect yoru score up to like 30 points i think she said.  now naturally thats for like Foreclosure status on a Mortgauge but damn only takes 30 days past due to go to foreclosure or to begin it anyway.

I would say you'll be ok with this, now if it was a full month or they went to collections different story.

Well it all depends on if you plan on keeping it. If you want to hold onto it forever/10+ yearsish then yes refi. I locked in a few months back at 4.75% for a 30fixed. Now I dont plan on getting rid of it anytime soon, im gona turn it into a rental once our new house is built. But if you are gona dump it in the next few years than NO, dont refi unless u are getting free closing cost, or are gona pay closing out of pocket. Righ now for 30 fixed they are running around 5.5% give or take a few. If youve got the extra cash do a 15 or a 20 fixed. Its only a few extra $100 each month and it gets you payed off way quicker.

ask politely for the credit card to remove the late payment charges and not to report it based on your flawless payment history and you have xx credit through there company.  If they refuse tell you would like to speak to their supervisor about paying off the balance and closing the account with an impatient tone, don't be nasty but let them know they are wasting your time that another financial institution would gladdly take your business and will.  They have the choice to fix the situation or loose your business, I goofed myself monday and called they removed the shit the second I asked due to my history.  I also pay my balance in full at least once a month I just got the due date confused with another account, I also had them change my due date so my two accounts match.

3 or 4 times I've missed a payment by a few days called the cc company asked if they could remove the late payment if I paid now over the phone and they said fine.  Also I don't think they can report anythign less than 30 days past

you must be 30 days late for them to report anything negative about it.  And they are not required to do so, they just feel obligated to screw you for making a simple mistake.  I'm trying to pay my CC's off and cut them fuckers up.
