I made sure the cables were on properly. I'll let the images do the talking.

I've tried another ostrich to rule out the idea of bad hardware. I tried various baud rates like JD suggests. I've about had it, srsly.
-
my connection settings on crome got all messed up one time. i have my timeout at 250 milliseconds and max tries at 111 im 90% sure the max tries is what screwed me it was at some retarded low number just gotta raise it. thanks to Craig Moates on that discovery for me.
hope that helps

v2.0 (or v1.0 with speedy firmware) set baud to 920000. For v1.0 set baud to 115200-whatsis. The end.

did that, and now it says "Sending data to ECU" sits there and then fails.. this is hooked up to the ecu and the key at the 2nd ON position.

You can send to and from without the ostrich plugged to anything.
Rebooted your computer yet?

I can't send or receive at all. in or out of the car
tried rebooting and reinstalling the usb drivers.
-
what firmware?
-
newest, 20.10 or whatever
-
See if you can connect to it with Tunerpro.
-
i don't have tunerpro rt, and i'm not paying 30 bucks to test hardware i just paid for :?:
-
Can you install it in someone elses car who is using a ostrich to see if yours on same settings as his works?I had to send my ostrich in to moates to get fixed it was brand new and fucked.I guess some went out with defective firmware or some shit.Hope your not in a hurry i spent $110 on express freight to get it to him then he took two weeks to reflash it >:(
-
god damn that's a bad experience.. I just used TunerPro RT to write a bin.. at first it wouldn't read or write, but I kept messing with it and finally got it to write, then went over to crome pro and it worked first try! THANKS JD, ILY <3
maybe now I can get my fucking shitbox back on the road, pissing everyone off with my open down pipe at 9k rpm
-
Shareware means you don't have to pay for it. Mark's a good egg, though, and this is a site full of deadbeats... if you use Tunerpro much try to at least send him a couple bucks.
-
lol, yeah tuner pro is free and that's how you test these ostrich's.
Anyways, maybe the batteries are dying?
-
it seems like crome is at fault here. I can post data with tunerpro rt and freelog sees the code, but if I post the data with crome it never registers properly.
-
If I remember well I had to check "Used for 27SF512" on the left of Detect Connection button to use it.
-
That should only matter when burning chips...
Replace batteries, run this http://www.moates.net/zips/CDM_Setup.exe, (http://www.moates.net/zips/CDM_Setup.exe,) setup all the com ports again(try changing to another com port) and give it another try.
On mine, it doesn't like uploading while I have it connected to the ecu for some reason. I'll also have to connect the ostrich first, wait a sec then open crome(so have crome closed before you connect the ostrich).
-
On mine I have to:
1. Have key off
2. Make changes to bin
3. Save the bin
4. Write to ECU
5. Verify
And then the fucker works? I also have the chip box checked?
-
what a PITA.. i sold my ostrich v2, and haven't had time to mess with this v1. I guess if it doesn't work in Real-time i'll sell mine and get another v2. it's expensive but hella nice when you can drive and tune simultaneously
