Title: RHMT Fan
Post by: patsmx5 on June 29, 2009, 11:20:36 PM
You will need:

One Katrina flooded HVAC inside units to remove a blower fan from. Rinse thoroughly.
Some old 2x4's previously used for concrete forms
Long ass wire that your neighbor gave you when he sold you a Miller 130 for $250.00  :noel:
Some bolts and nails you have laying around.

Total: $0.00

This is the best 220V free fan I ever had. 700 CFM blower. I bought a water misting kit I'm gonna add to it that will drop the temp of the air 15-20*F. WIll install that and see how it does when the kit gets here.

put at least a sheet of chicken wire on the outlet of that, couple hundred rpms plus a sheer point equals little kiddy sized amputations

chicken wire the inlet, the outlet won't matter after that!

eville140 had one in his shop. Standing next to it makes you nervous because of the vacuum it produces. Def needs a protector if any kids or drunk people are around.

Got the water misting kit. It sprays a fine mist, but it's not fine enough. So it doesn't all evaporate. Gonna make a plastic tank out of some 4" PVC (rated at 200 something PSI) and use it for a tank to hold water, then hook a compressor to it to get the pressure up higher that faucet water (~35 PSIG). Hopefully this will help.

With water misting wouldn't that be considered a swamp cooler? ;D
