Title: Honda Civic Knowledgeabilities Quiz. (How smart iz ya?)
Post by: Stealthmode on June 30, 2009, 05:07:08 PM
1) When hooking up a GM 3 bar map sensor, everyone knows there's only one diagram to do it.

(https://realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg231.imageshack.us%2Fimg231%2F6310%2Fmapwiring.jpg&hash=c8c12ff278f8c81d7614eeb54e9896b7ec2199d9)

How would you wire up a 4dr map sensor plug which uses pink/yellow/green wires?

2) If your starter was missing the signal wire, and the wire no longer existed in your harness, where would you originate your new wire in order to make the car start?

3) The plug going to your radiator fan has which two color wires on the harness side of the plug?

4) How many Honda Civics has Joseph Davis owned?

A) 3

B) 7

C) None. Joseph Davis doesn't own Honda Civics, they own him.

Nogs scoring over 75% will be granted a custom title of their choosing.

the yellow wire shown is 5V, the green wire is GND, and the pink wire is MAP SGNL
(look at the mating map inside the plug, they're labeled V, G, O)

the manual for my integra says the ignition switch sends start signal to the starter relay on a blk/wht wire to both the coil and contact...
the other side of the coil of that relay goes on blk/blu to the clutch switch to grnd on blk
The wire you would need is the blk/red wire coming off the other side of the contact (shown to change to blk/wht)

your car's colors may vary but based on that i'd look at the starter relay (back trace the clutch switch wires if you can't find it)
or honda did the civic's different and I'm ASSuming shit I shouldn't.

and 4)c

Conflicting results for yellow and pink

1)A-Green, B-yellow and C-Pink
2)Ignition switch
3)Blue and Red on my eg
4)C) None. Joseph Davis doesn't own Honda Civics, they own him.

I've read about the VGO deal before, but haven't seen it labeled on either of the two plugs I have.

That's because you're looking at harness plugs and not the MAP sensor itself, inside it's plug.  Trick bitch!

Is there someone specific you would trust or are you just asking so you can tell people they're wrong?
I'll try to take a minute from my day to snap and upload a pic of my setup I have sitting on my desk functioning just perfect wired as mentioned above, but i've been working 12-16 hour days the last couple weeks straight trying to stay in business.

Or you could look at the usefull threads sticky above for the 3/4 bar write up and I believe the information is there also.

No, I'm trying to hook my ish up and don't know. The only two answers I've got are conflicting, and I don't know either person. I'll look at the 3/4 map deal too. Thanks.

Here is looking at the sensor inside the plug
whatever car I stole that plug off of had from left to right: yellow/green, Green/blue, and white
(https://realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi218.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fcc302%2Fstenseltizm%2FIMG_0108.jpg&hash=da10633465cbbcfb8596e7cff2aeb66d68a02e0e)

This is how I wired my tester up left to right 5V, GND, Measure (out to ecu)
Didn't seem to fry it, pressure on the sensor output a higher voltage and vac output lower voltage
Think stock map koeo should be close to 2.9v?

Take it for what it's worth, I can always measrue my car one day when I ever see it again

hah only for that miniscule amount of knowledge you can absorb through the internets through reading mostly garbage and only touching the single honda you've ever owned a couple times a year.

another words I don't get to speak from experience often and shut my mouth usually for fear of just spreading more untested bullshit internet heresay and know very little but have many thoughts and ideas.
