Yeah so its been a hot minute since ive posted a build and I havent really built anything on the Porsche just fixed shit because its a fucking piece of eurotrash junk.
My first, second, and fifth cars were mitsubishi, so back to my roots.
Traded my 87 mr2 for this unit, not a bad deal since this 89 Dodge Colt runs like a fucking top. 181k miles, leaks oil like a sieve, and I absolutely fucking love it. 58hp of fury, rocking the 4-speed.

I will obviously put some sort of DSM based motor in the car, got a 7bolt 4g63 that crankwalked I could slap in it, just holding out for a better unit so whatever. I fully intend to throw a stock 4G6X into this fucker and crank the boost to the moon. Got an old AEM for a Honda so ill probably adapt it to the colt, fuck dsm electronics.
Ive got 2 of these GT18 VTG turbos, i might use them on the car.

BTW, much more important, the Y8 engine seen in the second picture is for sale. $250 obo, has 150K miles but runs strong with no funny noises. Let me know.

I am of the opinion that AWD is hype, and I can personally pull the same or better 60' with fwd/slicks/properly setup suspension, without all that muss and fuss of the weight-adding AWD. Not to mention that awd stuff is gold in the mitsu world, and im a cheap fuck. Unfortunately, most of these dsm/csm owners dont have a fucking clue how to make a car hookup, and none of them are half as badass as I am.
Its funny you should mention the quality of the drivetrain, since the entire DSM engine/trans/drivetrain was in fact designed for the mirage cyborg. Funny how an extra 1000lbs will render a decent (dseries "sized") transmission worthless.
FWD+Slicks > Awd.

Im not even gonna jump into that debate cause i think yuou have a point. Only time im facinated with AWD is when its retro fitted from different cars and made to work. Its Neat.
I think a fiero with a 454 in it is Neat though, not to say id have one or that its pointless but its neat.

From what I've seen, Andrew is 0.05-0.1 seconds slower than the $$$ AWD cars in the 60' with his incorrectly set up 180K mile beaten the fuck out of FWD Galant. And I'd go so far as to say that while Andrew's bright as fuck and can learn how to drive, his launch is still not at the limit of what that car can do and he could probably drop it a tenth if he had some coaching.

Honestly, 60' really arent the big deal. Its keeping traction thru 2nd, 3rd, and 4th im concerned with, and then not break some weak ass transfer case/center diff. Its truely magic I tell you.

AWD is only hype unless it's on the street. Then you either have to bring a RWD with a good rear suspension setup, or a drag slick FWD car that you really can't drive on the street out to beat it.

You car is heavy, and slow. AWD is fun when you make boat loads of power to haul around an inherently heavier chassis. You don't make a lot of power, if you did, your crap tranny would explode.
Don't mistake this for hate on Subaru's, I'm not Joey, a friend of mine has a 99 2.5 RS with 02 Wagaon drivetrain, 07 Sti 6 spd and the rest of the OMG Sti shit bolted up to it, with the boost cranked to the moon. It's a super fun car, but yours isn't, so shut it because your opinion is worthless.

Nothing at all, but you're from West Asheville where no one gives a fuck about shit like that and lets it slide.
Realistically, would you be rolling around on slicks and with a bar on a day to day basis, I doubt it, for a night at the street races, sure.

Probably be a 4g64 SOHC, as nobody builds them and they are infact cheap as fuck. Dirty sock for the win.
As far as the wheelie bars go, technically the law says anything that extends beyond the rear bumper of the car needs to have a red flag/marker attached for visibilty...So as long as I rock a red flag they really cant say shit to me. That and the fact that I'll have a black/blue COP sticker on the back of the car will probably help.
Also, I live 7 miles from work, all back roads. It would be a waste of time to bolt/unbolt slicks for weekend runs.

FYI One friend has a 1g TSi (14b @20psi, buncha boltons) and another had a hacked ebay turbo kit on a d16. Best the TSi could do was 1 car length up to 100mph, from a stop. The first run it ejected it's dipstick and set the O2 sensor wires on fire. I'd have to agree, AWD is hype until you run a shitload of power through a built tranny/xfer case.

Yeah I had a daisy-chain of zipties holding my dipstick down in the old GSX. What im hoping for with this build is civic-like weight with DSM power, putting it to the ground thru a well thought suspension setup and stickeys.
