Title: Timing light dont work wtf

So i am trying to set the timing on my camaro but the damn timing light dont want to work. It works fine on my mustang and honda but not the camaro. Wtf would cause this? Its getting power and i know its not the plug wires as i stole one from another car to eliminate that.

my snapon gun won't read through my giant ass Taylor wires (I got them for free don't hate) .. I usualyl swap out to a stocker when I do the timing.

I got the timing set. I just borrowed the cap and wires from my 80 camaro and put them on the 89. It seems the pickup on this light needs to be close to the dizzy instead of the plug to work right.
