Title: Whose got the link for Electric det cans
Post by: TTC on March 10, 2009, 12:54:00 PM
I remember seeing the whisper 2000 detcan link, but im more interested in using a stock knock sensor hooked up to a amp with a microphone input.  But i forget if i needed resistors and shit for this.

Is it just sensor ( mic ) --> mic input --> headphones?  Shit i gotta goto princess auto and poke around in the junk section.

I was gonna do the same, but the consensus is that real mechanical det cans are better than anything with electronics.

Heres a link witih a $7 amp, odds are ill probably make both since they are so cheap.  Ive used electric ones before, and surprisingly all i ever heard was engine noise, no weird feedback or problems.  BUT it used a  peizo knock sensor as the mic as opposed to a weird little piezo.
