Hey guys! I am building a custom turbo kit for my H22 and I am running a T3 turbo and I need help with my wastegate because of the way I had to clock the turbo for the H22.
Here is what I am thinking...
(https://realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi18.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fb133%2FCO_CReX%2FEG%2FPossiblewastegatebar.jpg&hash=d25c51687013743162dc9d3d0b1cfd97dc232934)
If I weld together rod that is the diameter of the wastegate bar to the design in red do you think the wastegate will still function properly?
Are there any other suggestions? I dont want to run external wastegate, this is a budget build.
Thanks in advance guys!

Seems that if you just move it so that the mount is behind the compressor outlet it should just about work as is. Might have to lengthen slightly.
With that being said internal gate is fail, even in a budget build. Buy a used external gate, and weld that internal one shut.

I know man, I really wanna run this internal gate I can't afford to pick up a used one, I need to use what I have....
And yes I can mount it that way but it hits the outlet hardcore and I would never be able to get a coupler on it.
Unbolt the bracket for the wastegate and shift it up towards the manifold. You should have a straighter path to the mounting tab on the turbine housing. You might have to rotate the compressor housing slightly so the wastegate clear the turbo outlet.
I didn't think about that, I will give that a try.
Any other suggestions if that doesn't work?

Bend it / cut it till it fits.
or unbolt one of the turbine clocking bolts and mount it to that. Not rocket surgery.

You could always mount the actuator somewhere else and use a piece of threaded rod to get to the flapper. I did this on my first setup.

Ok OP you have had lots of help, and there is still no porn.

Run a cable wastegate, rope?

weld it shut

weld it shut
Best advice yet.

weld it shut
yeah, you already have a flange for a 38mm, it will help you in the long run to just delete the internal now.

no, weld it shut and regulate boost with your foot
