That sounds like something I'd do but I wouldn't need to be texting for a distraction.

A friend of mine took a truck out on a road test and nearly ran some kid over cause the kid was texting and not paying attention. I laughed.

Seeing how they make laws for every fucking thing, how about no texting unless your seated in a chair that has no means of motion.

People need to take the cards they are dealt, not write laws to protect the ignorant or sue for stupid things.  If they can't read because they dropped out of school and drinking arsenic seems like a good idea, have at it

I had a short answer question in college: if a man appears to be drowning in a lake, defendant swims out, he's thrashing violently so the only way to drag him ashore is by the upper torso.  Once the man is ashore, he's taken to the hospital.  After learning the nearly drowned man would be paralyzed for life, he sues the defendant for breaking his neck while saving him.
Your on the jury.
My answer: plaintiff wins but the award is $1 he proved his case, but he has his life.

Should be more jurys like that, it would end a lot of frivolous law suits.

We really need to stop protecting people from themselves. Stupidity deserves consequences, not reward.
