Megasquirt on a Miata (derivative) is a no brainer.
I'd put a Honda distributor on it because I have all that shit laying around and the Megasquirt would cost me money. Do you?
FYI until Microtech cares to support a battery compensation table it is a failure.

I like MS on every Miata I tune.
I dislike it on ever distributor 6+ cylinder car I tune. I understand there's a lot more flavors out there and some stuff with correct dwell control now, so most of what I bitched about has been addressed *if you get the right setup*. Since I ASSume you're going to be running a cam position sensor and coilpack in wasted spark mode, you can disregard me and just pick up any Miata-approved MS setup.

You should be fine since it's a 4 cylinder. The older MS1 with the spark add ons had some shitty canned pull down coil dwell tables that just caused some 6-8 cylinder vehicles to misfire after a certain RPM, or not catch when cranking but drive great if you rolled them off. I don't think those problems will apply to you, there's a lot more time to charge the coil on a distributored four cylinder engine.

I can. How far away are you from WNC?
