Title: Fuck You I'm From Jacksonville, or marcj's build thread.
Post by: marcj on July 24, 2009, 01:20:00 AM
I decided to put my coupe on the road again instead of selling it. I'm joining the Air Force as an E-3 in acouple months, so I canceled the 240sx project until a later date.

got rid of my sinktrap, made a little money on the deal, and bought a log manifold from weirtech (aaron) for a what most people charge for material.

I have turned the compressor to the proper side. I was checking clearance for A/C compatible setup if I decided to go that route.

put a wastegate on. the only material available at the time was a mild steel elbow; I expect to get flamed for this.. eat a dick

just finished making the new charge pipe setup a few hours ago.
got the smaller intercooler for $20 from a local.

I'll get some better pics once it's out of the garage.. the lighting sucks in there.

interior shot.. nothing new aside from relocating the radio down low, electric oil press. gauge, PLX M300 on steering column and the GSR shifter knob.. finally got rid of that retarded acorn looking DC knob that came with the car 2 years ago

plans as of now are:
1.) getting the tune fixed since it was running like shit with my new 780cc's last time it was on the road
2.) finally putting my thermal 3" exhaust on
3.) making a cold intake for the turbo (IAT were super high before this revision)
4.) getting another dragger clutch from Mike since I sent the last one back  :'(

I sold my evo intercooler because it was a backdoor setup.. I plan on running A/C or a full size radiator if I end up moving somewhere with tolerable summer temperature (FL heat sucks). I will eventually get one of those bigger ebay coolers,  lik

Fucking copy cat. :noel: Look back at my thread for how to 'rivet' the case halves back together. Also, it's important to leak test them in water, you'll see them leak before you hear them.

BTW does this mean the A/C sinktrap is out? I just got a whole bunch of turbo housings/chra's from my friend, and I only work 2 days this week.

haha, I didn't know you did a write up on that mod.. I actually jbweld'd the sensor in to seal it, so i'm sure it's fine.

I wanted the sinktrap, but I sold the sinktrap manifold I made and needed something quick. I can't wait to see how the HX35 responds without exhaust leaks

I might be picking up a straight T3 with a stage 1 wheel, .42 .48 housings, so that should be a fun little turbo for ripping on it around town. If all the seals are good I might make it into something like a GT28RS, quick spool but still good for 350hp

I meant the AC version you wanted welded up.

My writeup is burried in the E.M. subforum. I guess JB weld would work, but if you don't triple-check everything, you're SOL on every part. And technically for the record, JD claims he did that 18 years ago, right after Honda struck the first mold for tb map sensors. :P
