Title: Server Admin Bitches Dell DMC,BMC/IPMI questions
Post by: malichite on July 30, 2009, 08:54:07 PM
What do you bitches use?  I installed the "Dell DMC" a while ago and it was a huge bloated bitch running on altirs.  Sucks nuts.  I dont need all that garbage cause we run solarwinds in house for all our application and OS level monitoring.   I just want an easy way to centrially manage all my boxes.  I have the BMCs configured and used open ipmi but that kind of sucked.  I really just want  the remote power and remote console shit to work and I want a collective place to see all of my hardware warnings.  I know I proably wont get much other then ok, zc, oczc, where's the turbo bull shit but figured I would drop the question incase anyone out there has some ideas.

gots to think outside da box nigga. I got an ap my boy wrote with soopa simple vb that loads any pcs or servers from a text file into a sweet little windowed app. you can check processor usage, ram disk space whatever at a glance and if you click the server it self it starts a rdp session. pm me and when I get to work ill shoot you a zip'd copy my nigga. royal ts is cool too.

I got that shit mang.  Solarwinds owns you!  I am looking at trying to centralize the hardware logs on all my servers and be able to use the bmc for a remote KVM.  RDP isn't the issue, I want to get to the console of the box when it is not at the OS for doing remote builds and troubleshooting.
