Title: Thinking of trading the Del Sol for this
Post by: malichite on August 05, 2009, 12:46:17 AM
What you think?

http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/1306073246.html (http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/1306073246.html)

The del sol is wearing on me and  frankly I am loosing modivation.  I am ready for a new project.  This is in great shape.  I am keeping my K1s and he is keeping his rims.

Current work my del sol still needs.

Make an exhaust
dents to fix and paint
water pump
...  other trinkets and stuff

Obviously, the civic will get vitaras and FJ rods + Holset

That fucker is clean as fuck. The del slut is beat the fuck up. It looks like it has spent its life on loging roads......lol No Im just playing but I think its a fir trade. I mean the only thing the delsol has going for it is the fact that it has a zc thats built and turboed, and tuned by leed.

clean civics sell for under 2k in California on a daily basis. The cars are basically illegal here so even stock ones get fucked with by cops. Most people unload them for that reason.

Those headlights are going to suck donkey nuts. Shitty color level and without a projector they will shoot all over the place with big ass holes in your lighting. Go for it. You can boost it and not mess with that shitty body work for the sol.

The del sol is kind of a gay man's car, but that civic is even worse! It looks like it is trying to be a vw...

Guess your not understanding the 93-95 civic coupes sell for well under 2k in california all the time.

I am trying to make it easier.  I have put a lot of time nad effort into the car.  It is a very sound running car.  Frankly, I have lost motivation on this carl.  Everytime I turn around there is something new to fix, not unlike every other old honda, however with that said, I have put a lot of time and effort into it and I am tired of chassing down stoopid shit just to have a car that still as ratcityrex said, "Looks like it spent it's life on a logging road"  I am ready for something new.  Right now I can't scrounge up the effort to deal with the simplest of issues because I am tired of spending time on the car.  This will be something new.  The body and interiour are in excellent shape and frankly that is the thing I suck at doing.  I can make it fast and I can do that on the cheap, that is not my concern.  Just this time when I finish making it fast, it will also look half way decent..

I will admint, the "JDM" fog light and the other stuff I am not into.  I will probably even switch back to stock headlights.  I am keeping the Kosei's on the Sol and putting them on the civic so it will have not so ricer wheels and I am putting real springs on it to get it back off the ground.  I have a 12:1 Z6 in the garage right now that I am going to put into it for the time being and then i am going to do the FJ/Vitara build.

2 day drive to save 2k sounds fair to me. Apex aka Jay lives in Sacramento the heart of Hondas in Northern California. Im sure he could help you out.

Check out scaramento craiglist its full of civic no one wants.

That woudl be cool if I was buying, but I am trying to trade.  I dont want to drive all the way to CA to "Maybe" trade with someone.  I also dont want to drive the car that far do to all the little stuff, IE exhaust.  It is open down pipe right now and call me lazy, but I just dont feel like building an exhaust for a car I dont care about anymore.

I dont disagree with you at all though.  Just want to stay local incase people change their minds blah blah blah.  I also am not in the mood to try to sell the car and deal with people trying to dicker with me blah blah blah.

Damn if you were close to me I'd buy your Del Sol or trade you a decent eg. I can find those out of Greeley Co. auto auctions for uber cheap some as little as 400usd because they did not pass smog.

Your car isn't haggard compaired to my beater sol. Not a single panel isn't dented, scratched, or rusty. Every exterior plastic part is cracked, the carpet is INFUSED with woven-in dog hair, trunk is rusty, and it has a "stainless" ebay exhaust that's full of rust. Only good thing about it is the door strikers haven't cracked off, the stock b16 is decent (but slow), and I put gsr blades on it.

The problem I see is that red Civic has over 200k on it's body. That's really getting beat up. You also know it's been abused if someone tossed a d15b7 into it at some point.

WTF is it with you cock mouth pussies afraid of your parents? Sorry but when I was 16 I started buying my own shit and I did what I wanted with it. You remind me of one of my friends, 24 and the fucker still does everything his parents want. They went and picked a car out for him (which turned out to be a rip off that I or Jorsher would have never let happen) and then make him pay them for the fucker. Oh well

Ah, I do apologize. Should have specified whose parent. In that case you should have laughed at him and called him a cock mouth pussy.

Try to jew him out of some more money, or offer to take the turbo parts off. Seems like he just wants a Del Sol so maybe you'll get lucky. Either way looks pretty damn clean.
