any one have any dyno graph's or input on the Rhmt Itb setup?
-
gay, waste of time...
-
i have made a set using the hmt write up. What imput do you need?
-
They sound cool. I have built 5 sets. There is more power in a throttle body upgrade/port work

agreed
-
Any cycle itb is too small for dohc vtec motors
On mild ls/sohc stuff there is some nice power gains but again you can achieve more with port work/throttle body upgrade.
-
now it was fun as hell tearing up the local ricers with my itb'd zc(sohc non-vtec). with everyone asking what noz i had and it had to be a "vtec" to be that loud. it was really for show, and i was 16 and didn't really know wtf tuning was... haha
-
Mark I know a kid in my area that has some gitckister 1000cc ITBs for $125
-
I have a set of busa 1300cc's. Largest cycle bodies made. 45mm plates. 125 shipped
-
i can get them cheep im just debating on my N/A build i want 215 on stock block.
-
i can get them cheep im just debating on my N/A build i want 215 on stock block.
diy itb's aint going to make it happen
215 on a stock block is a pipe dream sir unless you are running a h series/k series
-
it wont be stock im thinking 82mm 12-12.5 cpr some head work.
-
Even then 215 is alot on a small b series motor.
Get a pro products manifold. Cheap and works fuckin dope.
74mm throttle body
spacer
The 45mm itb's are too small thats just the facts.
I have done more of these than I think anyone and can tell you this dont bother with them.
-
I would just go with a jdm b20 block/cast high compression pistons. Run stock bore 84mm no need for machine shop costs.
Turbohf made 220 whp through a stock head on his b20vtec with cast high compression pistons stock bore 84mm
He ran my ported pro products manifold/74mm throttle body. His car wasnt close to being dialed in either and power was made through exhaust also.
-
i was thinking about a b20/V i hear a lot of shit about the sleeves. im basicly looking for snap my finger throttle responce im trying to build an all around fun car to drive not a strait line dyno queen. if you can pm me about some good places to start im also depaiting a direct port nitrous system for the track to put out my #
-
That sleeve shit is nonsense. Unless your boosting the crap out of the car or plan on running 2+ hour road racing events the b20 sleeves are nothing to worry about
Pm turbohf about his setup
The only thing I would change for a street build on Turbohf's build would be to run ctr oem camshafts so the car will have more driveability and keep the revs lower
B20's are very cheap these days and since they are an obd2 motor they actually will be in pretty fair condition compared to older obdo/1 jdm motors.

Thats the manifold you want. Port match
Get a 74mm throttle body/spacer from me and you have a combo that will support well above your goals.
I know that setup works have alot of people accross the country running it
-
sweet ass i have that manifold in my basement already
-
Half way there,it really is a nice intake manifold. get a spacer/74mm throttle body from me and you have the manifold setup that will kick those diy itb's asses.
-
yeah turbohf has a 220whp B20VTEC... :?:

yeah, weak... anyway. STOCK B20B sleeves. im not concerned about your sleeve cracking story at all. i have a great tuner, and a GOOD cooling system. shit was like 90* outside with the AC on...
if you got questions about it im sure i can make fun of you, and maybe even answer them. you can also buy that motor, cuz i dont want it anymore... NA cars are gay...
also, if it can be bought from chris m. for my setup i probably bought it from him. block/intake/tb(x2), think something else too?
OH YEAH AND: i had a B16B Civic Type-R motor with ITBs on it. it was "slow as balls" -Jeff Frank (might not be exact quote)
motor put down what a stock ITR motor would have put down, and this had ITBs, small NA cams. restrictive exhaust though... anyway still sucked.
-
Why would you want to go N/A? You like the way my car pulls! Don't spend money on a B When I can give you the D block and crank you can do a D way cheaper.... I even have a Y8 head you can have...... O0 O0 O0 You know the D is dirty............ If you wanna spend money get the head done with Chris and get the intake mani deal Angel got.... Z6 IM all ported nice...With the big 70mm TB.....
-
when my busa throttles werent acting up, i could feel the restriction as the car was much slower than with the stock IM. Even at 46mm throttle plates, they just werent enough.
cool and fun project, but its not one of those things you do to gain power IMO at least.
