Title: NSFW Tying to figure out if its a code 1, & 4, or a 14?
Post by: ratcityrex on August 06, 2009, 12:02:37 PM
So my sister is on the road in her 91 stock si hatch. All stock and she calls me up and says that shes just cruzing along and the cel comes on and it runs like shit. Pulls over shuts the car off and starts it back up and no cell and the car runs fine. So I tell her fuck it keep going....lol Calls me back up and hour later and says its doing the same thing. So I told her to pull over pull the carpet back and count the flashes, She said it flashes once pause and then four times, than pause and repeats that. SO what im trying to figure out is if its a code 1 and 4 or just a 14? Wont do it any other time but when she driving(not at idle no crazy idle at all so I think its a 14). She and her boyfriend left Seattle are last night and is driving to Carson City nv. Its only happend 2 times on the whole trip and shes about 350 miles into it.

14 is flash(long)  flash(short) flash(short) flash(short) flash(short)

1 is flash(short)

4 is flash(short) flash(short) flash(short) flash(short)

If the first flash is long its 14.

1 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S)
4 Crankshaft Position (CKP Sensor)
14 Idle Air Control (IAC Valve)

I say 14 ;)

Last I checked, OBD0 ecus dont do long flashes  Sounds like 1 and 4 to me.  I can't remember how many times I would loose count counting codes on pm6s and pg7s.  1 and 4 hommie 1 and 4.

Shit my crx had a bad o2 forever, it ran better on the freeway once the cel hit, it would go lean. i just concidered it my lean cruze freeway tune....lol

but on a side note. it was a code 1 & 4.

I called a auto parts store in the middle of nowhere and they had a new china built dizzy in stock close to where she was driving through. Sge stoped there and i talked her through how to change it with the auto parts store tools. Then the guy that worked there called his buddie up and he came and knocked out the rest of the dizzy replacement job in about 5min. Nice dude, she kicked him a $20 and was on her way to carson city nv. Talked to her yesterday and she was driving back up here to seattle are and have had no problems with it since the dizzy replacement. so im sure the code 4 was fucking everything all up.
