My uncle was found dead at 7:30 last night.
-
were you close?
-
age? cause of death? Sorry for your loss little guy.
-
Closeish.
He was a hard headed man who was ruined by Vietnam.
The hard headedness runs in the family. We have fought like cats and dogs, but we were family.
He would have been there for me if I needed him, and me for him as well.

sorry for your loss

60's. Myriad health issues from agent orange and drug/alcohol use over the years.
Nothing that was directly killing him that we knew of, at least not this quickly.
My dad found him laying partway on his bed when he went to check on him this evening.

sorry for loss man.

that sucks, 60 is old age IMO. So he lived a long life.

Not when your nerves are shot from combat, and body compromised by chemicals. Most of those old vets are tough as nails and hang on for a good while because they are fighters and don't give up, but they still die younger than others especially when they don't learn to manage their stress. If Ntrain2k's uncle was still on again/off again hitting the sauce then he never learned.
A lot of those crafty old vets are their own worst enemy. They can be really challenging to be friends with - fiercely loyal and will do anything for you, but you get sucked into the self-created drama of their lives.

Don't have an official COD yet.
Thanks for the condolences all.
-
Sorry to hear man.
