I'm guessing this is an IS300, Calebs?  Goforth got his for $600 and I've seen similar ones for under $2000, cost $1500 to fix.

And, Frank is right.  Any car from DC, NYC, etc has probably been totaled once a year and fixed by a shady bodyshop.  It's not uncommon in high population affluent areas for rich folks to buy cheap throw away $30-40K beaters to trade paint in.  6 month old vehicles with every body panel totally fucked is the norm, I doubt half those vehicles get any oil changes.

true story. If you know the previous owners, or maybe its a 1 or even 2 owner car I might jump on it. Most high end cars like that are off lease or someone dumped them. Lease cars mean they get turned back in regardless if you changed the oil in the 2 years you had it or not.

id prolly be somewhat learly of that.

With that body kit, rims, and maybe the picture angle it looks like a Ford Focus

$12K, from a place other than DC, is a fair deal.  Not a good deal.
