Title: B20b Motor CR-V
Post by: Deleted User on August 11, 2009, 06:33:05 PM
I blew my ls and am going the b20 route, i am doing research on my own and notice the compression is real low so far, it prob wont handle more than 15psi on the turbo im usuing (t3/t4 57 trim), the sleeves are weak....its just like the LS just .2 litres bigger....

BUT does anyone have personal experience or any inside scoops, how they do with turbo, b20-vtec, good links, good write ups anywere i can read etc...or just opinions and info they wouldnt mind sharing just want to learn and sponge in info.

The b20 sleeves are so week you probably shouldent boost it. They wont hold any power at all.  ::)

Its all in your tune, and how long you beat it for. Good tune, and dont go road racing it for 3 hours, or do 5th gear wot pulls and you will do just fine at 15 lbs.

Thats a very fair deal for the mileage. Most ls motors have 220k miles on them and need machine work

My friend has used the same B20 block for 4 years now in his drag car. 275whp NA. AFAIK he never fucked with a block guard, and revs the piss out of it. For boost I'd rather go with an LS if I was aiming over 300whp. If your b20 does let go, you're out enough time & money to have sleeved a B18 instead.

$350 really isn't bad, and you also have to consider regional pricing. It's similar to how Civics are 2x the price 2 states away from California. However if you're going to have it machined and shit, a beat-up block will net the same results for less money.
