Well my wifes stepdad picked up a clean 89hf today and he has a great running 89 crx si. So he wants to swap the motor/trans, harness, ecu, steering rack, front brakes, axels ect.... from his Si into the hf
Now my question is there any differance between the 89hf and 89si chassie wiring? This fucken hf is clean as fuck for having 282,XXX on the clock. He paid 1100 for it. never been nigger rigged or been haggered on. So i think 1100 is a good price considering most crx's here in wa go for well over 2k

its the same. i believe the hf has an egr though
i really need to finish my shit

only cali emissions HFs have EGRs...
as with all 88-91s you HAVE TO use the engine wiring harness thats original to the chassis. and everything should plug in just fine, no worries...

This one has a egr.
I thought that the hf engine wiring had to stay with the hf car. So Now that I have turbohf's confirmed that for me. Am I going to have a solid cel when we drop the hf motor into the si chassis with the si harness because it dose not have the egr wiring? Maybe I will add the egr wiring into the si harness. What a bitch. Maybe I will just cut the cel light wiring in the si and not have any cels ever...lol

just use a different intake mani on the hf motor....
-
Well i might just do that. i also heard if you throw a a6 head on the 8valve lowerend that it makes like 11.0:1 comp. Might do that and see how well that works out....lol
-
i believe the other goofy thing about the HF cars are the hubs, and that they are smaller than the regular dx/si hubs so you may have to swap the front knuckles out.

make sure the clay the motor. hf pistons only have 2 valve relief cuts on their pistons
maybe i will do it. i still have my stock hf and a y7 and y5 head

use the HF axles you will be fine...
why are you not trying to use the HF harness? there will just be an extra 3pin plug for the EGR just leave it hang. i have run it like that before.
i know both these first hand...

Axels stay with the hubs not the trans right. So if I have hf hubs you use hf axels. Si hubs si, axels....
But what do I do about the egr thats on the b6 motor that will be in the si? (swap to a diff intake)

Tell him the HF is a worthless pile and isnt worth the swap and ill buy it for $500

He knows what its worth ;) He payed $1100 for it witch is a good deal, cuz its clean as fuck!! Stock Seats are even in good shape.
If you would havent sold your hf to some douch bag instead of my brotherinlaw we would have one more 88-91 in the family. He had cash in hand and we were getting ready to leave the house and you sold it out from under him. Its cool though money talks. No hard feelings. As it is now we have 5 88-91's. Yours would have made 6.

ok listen up!
Si brake calipers/rotors SWAP ONTO STOCK HF KNUCKLES 100%
Si engine/tranny swap in 100% bolt in, use HF axles
FOR ALL 88-91 Civic/CRX USE THE HARNESS ORIGINAL TO THE CHASSIS!
dont worry about a fuckin EGR, Si doesnt have it and your going to be using that ECU, it wont throw a code, just dont try to plug it into shit. everything should be the same length, dont modifiy shit! DONT try to swap intakes or homo shit, just drop the fuckin motor in.
congrats you have a HF with bigger brakes, and nicer engine. and still get 30+ MPG....

I think he was referring to swapping the hf motor back into the si chassis with the egr and manifold swap
-
Yep, thats what i was referring to.
