any suggestions so as not to get fucked over by UPS or FedEx broker fees?????
USPS.....but shipping a $1000 cylinder head to Canada????
-
were is it going to?

Fedex now has a policy that you can waiver so that the recipient must pay the fees
Call fedex I was just told about this couple weeks ago by my fedex rep. Not sure on the details but from what he told me it just started.

why would the shipper ever have to pay the importing fees ???

going to Toronto area.
I'm trying to ship the cheapest OVERALL including his taxes on arrival. With USPS he thinks he'll only have to pay the taxes, but with UPS/FedEx they rape you on brokerage fees.
If he had the time to drive across the border it would be so easy. I would meet him in Detroit.
Yes, I'm selling the Stage 3 ported head with Crane 0016 cam and Bisimoto valvesprings for $1000 shipped or less, depending on costs. I told him payment in form of money will have to clear bank before I will ship which he fully understood and expected.

I got by b18 head from UPS and it was fine. Shipping was like 70-75, but at least you have tracking and insurance...
For a 1000$ head, its a must.

I know going to the states if it is under $2000, I just write NDR 1 (No Documents Required) on the 3 invoice copies for customs, and there are no issue. I have never done it from the states to canada though. I also know that in the states you are required to provide 12 digit HS codes, vs only the 8 digits we need to provide.
If it is over $2000 then you have to do a proper Invoice with things like HS codes, and reasons "Warranty return" ect...
-
easist way would be to ship to a US address and then get it across the border. then send it across.
you could always ship it to my Blaine WA address, then it comes across via seaplane to me and i can send it to the guy in T.O. he will have to cover all the taxes and shipping when i declare it but thats one way to go the cheap route.
-
That totally is a stupid idea.
Ship across the US, then ship back across Canada.
5300 miles total, he's less than 500 miles from me.
-
you could pack it up in a barrel and chuck it into the niagara river. have a speed boat pick it up on the canadian side, the mounties wont see shit as they're too busy picking up horse shit.
the whole operation would be cheaper than fedex.

We have a us adress at the queenston oewiston bridge
5 min into the states.
If you want to ship it there?
-
Buyer prefers it be direct shipped. He could have his parents pick it up in the USA, but doesn't know when they will cross over next time.
Package is headed to Stittsville, over by Ottawa.
USPS Priority is $96 before insurance
FedEx is $100 total including insurance and $43 "clearance entry fee"
The head weighs 34 pounds before packing, so I used 45 pounds for estimate as I do tend to over pack.
USPS route he'll have to pay taxes, what will FedEx rape him with or was the $43 "clearance entry fee" the raping??????
