Title: Pot laws changing...
Post by: Jorsher on August 27, 2009, 03:43:10 PM
In the past week, Mexico and Argentina have decriminalized possession of small amounts of pot (Mexico also decriminalized a number of other drugs in small amounts).

Denver just changed the marijuana possession fine to $1, stating "By setting the fine at just $1, we are sending a message to Denver officials that the era of citing adults for using a less harmful drug than alcohol is over. It's simply not worth the city's time or resources."
/me wonders how long before the rest of the country follows suit...

I dont smoke weed, never have never will. If a guy couldn't grow it so easy and the government could tax it like tabacco it would have been legal years ago. I think its better for you then smoking or drinking, in moderation of coarse.

I smoke it around once a week on average.  Eventually the country will get some sense and decriminalize it.  Last few major polls, a majority has disagreed with the prohibition...

I agree on the fact that alcohol is worse than smoking weed in moderation. Fuck the goverment is so stupid not to legalize it and make money off of taxes...

Guys decriminalization is not what we want.  that means they dont care if you smoke it and will NOT use it indrustrialy and will still drain yoru tax dollars on Chasing the drug dealers.  When its decriminalized teh Only people it benifits are dudes who smoke at home, it will not help anything.  In canada where its been decriminalized for a while they have all sorts of issues with Houses being sold strictly for teh point of Grow operations and folks are getting shot and killed over trying to break into said houses.  It creates a lot of Bad press for stupid shit, not to mention teh fact that 75% of Canadas Drug money goes to fight Soley the pot dealers.

If its decriminalized we will reap Zero benifits from it, Legalization is where we need to be, let the Gov tax it make mad dough and let us use it for textiles n shit.  that way we can acutally profit from it instead of just "Not convicting petty users"  Its sorta a slide of hand trick, its pacifing folks without really addressing the entire situation.

Thanks, but I know the difference between the two.

Are you arguing that decriminalization is not a step in the right direction?

Don't you think people that make money on the "black market" prefer decriminalization to legalization/regulation? O0
