Title: Friend in critical condition at harborview
Post by: Kenny Rogers on September 05, 2009, 10:09:51 PM
We were all hanging out for a friend's birthday, I went home, most people slept at the house (A-frame type cabin). Sometime around 2:30 a fire started near the back porch... they don't know if it's electrical or from a cigarette. They were pretty responsible about the butts, so I find it hard to believe the fire started from a cig... can't say for sure yet.

My buddy mike (came to the dyno day) got out fine, jumped out the 2nd story window, but another friend took in a ton of smoke and we think he lost consciousness, which led to his his burns.

He got airlifted to Harborview and he's in bad shape. I went to the hospital earlier today and he is unrecognizable. He's a damn tough guy, I'm hoping he'll pull through.

yeah suck to hear man, hope it works out for him.

My girl does protestics for people with burns she says most people that survive from serious burns try and kill themselves because they cant live life normally anymore.. its really sad. i've seen alot of burn victims and i dont think i myself could live like that. makes me so sad like uncle same.

Thanks guys. He is still in critical condition, but he is stable. The next 24 hours will be important. If he can make it through the next day he'll have a good chance of surviving.

I always see thread titles like this one and kind of look at them on the firstpage of GD for a couple hours before clicking. Then I remember why I feel that way about them.

I'm sorry about your friend, sir.

So far so good... they took him off the ventilator to test out his breathing... coughed up a bunch of soot, but burns to the lung are minimal. His face will probably not need skin grafts, but his hands/arms/lower legs are pretty bad. All things considered he is doing good right now. Best case scenario he'll be in there 2 months.

His face is okay? I knew a girl whose legs were pretty badly burned in a fire, she always wore long pants to hide them. I always wanted to have sex with her, partially out of morbid curiousity, partially because she was cute. I think your friend will be fine. O0

lol, yeah. Plus I hear his groin is relatively unharmed. If it were me, I'd be extremely happy to hear that news, lol.
