Title: Let's get our own grassroots movement going here, guys.
Post by: Joseph Davis on September 09, 2009, 12:12:49 AM
The concept is simple: automatic impeachment of any elected official for practicing deficit spending, with mandatory legal repercussions ranging from misdemeanors to treason since they obviously had an ulterior motive in throwing our money around.

All we have to do is raise hell about this one simple, solitary thing and these overpriviledged sons of bitches who've never worked a day in their lives will remember who they are working for.  Link to this thread, steal the idea as your own, I don't care: spread it to the four winds and let's show the government what Change is.

Everyone in DC is so detached from reality it's disgusting.  It seems their corruption, overspending, and reckless behavior is so entrenched it would be impossible to reverse.  We are headed for disaster with these horrible "representatives" and lot of lazy, whiny citizens looking for handouts.  I hope for the country's sake we can get back to being the greatest country in the world.

It was a book by Harry Harrison, Make Room!  Make Room!

Basic fiction that the five literate people left in this nation read when they were twelve.

Just remember kids, the Second amendment was founded to ensure that the people always had the ultimate say and government was only meant to act on the peoples behalf.  If the government did not act accordingly then the people have the right to overthrow the government.

Your overt chan mentality is garbage.  The chans were cute for a year or two (about five years back), but a medium that advocates anonymity not as a protection of the individual but as a form of individual ego death while simultainiously criticising everything that cannot be objectified sexually has amounted to nothing.  The chans are havens for retards and child pornography, and it shows.

With the exception of the Steampunk board on Megachan, of course.  <3 /ste/

Been trying to compile a healthy multiple hour playlist of steampunk music. So far half of it is The Decemberists, and I'm feeling like I'm lacking.
I know of Vernian Process and Machinae Supremacy, but it's usually to industrial when I'm trying to relax with a bottle of absinthe and look out my window and imagine airships floating by.

    Reccomendations...

    The Decemberists

    Yann Tiersen's soundtrack to "Amelie"

Shiro Hamaguchi's orchestral score to Final Fantasy VIII (mainly the tracks "Blue Fields", "Ami", and "Fisherman's Horizon")

If they'd sent in another three battalions with the purpose of ejecting/slaughtering the populace, Iraq would be our personal stretch of unpopulated desert.  That is not our goal there, and you mistake the nature of our military might.

Not that turning an army against it's home country in the event of a civil war is remotely a good idea.

3 battallions= 1000-2500 soldiers

not that many, and easily defeated. also, the technology is valuable, but not everything how do you think the afghans beat the russians? guerilla tactics and sabotage ultimately>technology. stalking pilots/tank commanders/officers in their off time and slitting their throats, etc.

it's obvious you've never spent time in an infantry unit. you think that there are thousands of these planes/tanks/whatever just waiting to drop bombs on whoever...  planes in the air don't win wars. feet on the ground do. the military would suffer enormous casualties here at home. you are not thinking about the small details here. poisoning, sabotage, kidnapping, etc. ricin, nicotine, blah blah blah are retardedly lethal and easy to make. all i'm getting at is that  there are more ways to kill someone than dropping a smart bomb somewhere, and for the most part you don't need technology to do it.

It's obvious you've never spent time in anything more than a "policing action."  What wins wars is wholesale slaughter of the unarmed, untrained, and defenseless civilian population.  When the underpinnings of a society crumble and cry uncle, the war is won.

Post by: j.h.christ on September 11, 2009, 11:25:24 PM
afghanistan in '02 was definitely not a policing action. also, i disagree with the wholesale slaughter idea. aside from the carpet bombings in ww2, i can't think of the last time aside from a few isolated incidences in vietnam where that tactic was employed. i mean, look at the soviets in ww2. did losing millions of lives affect their social underpinnings? nope, they sacked the fuck up and drove on. lack of morale and winning hearts and minds is what wins wars.

You kill a man's family and let him keep his ugly old wife past childbearing years and he's grateful.  Winning hearts and minds is a byproduct of being the conquering force and rewriting the history books to suit your best interests.

Why else would people think the Civil War had anything remotely to do with slavery?
