I also would like to go to this school.

Damn
-
Somebody sent me that last night. Not bad.
-
Fucking Nasty.
-
15.5:1 compression and nearly 10k redline... wow.
-
Wonder when S.A.M. will push their talldeck 500ci motor to those kind of extremes
-
High rpm pushrods make my peepee hard too.
s2k would have to make 315hp just to keep up (hp/l) with that dinosaur.. awesome.
275-305, actually, depending on which S2000 engine you're calculating. Which works out the S2000 needing to make 40-45 whp over stock to match that dinosaur's specific output. Easily done with bolt ons and mild street cams on both AP1 and AP2.
I really expected something more intelligent from an engineering graduate, C average or no.

ricer math dude. common you think if you put that motor in a stock camaro that a S2k would hang with it at 300 hp.
common dude.
*waits for jonny's ricer math calculator.*

Henry, he said nothing of the sort. You are a fucking retard and should avoid technical discussions.

Sorry for any confusion.. I just took 1000, divided by 7L, multiplied by 2.2L. Lots of rounding, lots of bullshit. Just seeing what they were talking about in the thread with "I thought 9500 was only s2000 territory LOL!!!" How much a 2.2L would have to make to be at that hp/L is all I was after.
Double check your math.
-
Your numbers are high because it's not a 7.0 liter.

Yar!

damnit i want endless time and money to put into my car

What bolt ons? 40hp is a fuckload n/a with an f20. I'm not trying to talk shit, but if you know an easy mod for 40hp that doesn't involve itb's or a longer stroke, I honestly want to know.

LSx are the best, and shit on everything all day any day. HP/L is ricer math and stupid bullshit, Hondas fall far short of the awesome greatness that is the LSx

full exhaust, intake manifold, intake, and a decent tuner could squeeze something close to that out. whatever it may lack, just make up with some spray
-
Without FI or spray no. A few grand in exhaust and intake will net you 10~15whp on an f20 in the midrange and very little peak. The motor is pretty maxed out from the factory. Boost is a different animal. inlinePro has a 930+rwhp engine right now with a gt42 on it. :o
-
Pusrod technology also allows much more rocker ratio tuning than with OHC. You can have a ratio of 2.5if you wanted so open/close rates are very high
I have some Jesel 2.2's for if I ever build a SBF with CHI heads.
-
KNow whats funny bout the SBC? Its younger than an OHc engine. OHc engines were usedin racing in the teens and used mass production in the 20's, that SBC that was made in 1955. I dont get why folks think OHC engines are like a newer design than SBC's

who the fuck are you and where is your intro thread?

Nobody touches cam timing, though. Or do they?
Those motors love compression.
-
Not bad at all.
A local guy put down 612whp on a mustang dyne thru a powerglide and ford 9" with 28" slicks at what was roughly 14:1 static compression on a 351w svo block. Ported the heads and milled the pistons by hand.

making it now

I honestly can't say. I've yet to see anyone get much out of the cams worth writing about, but I could be wrong. The valves are pretty close to interference stock, so it's limited. There are a few mystical cams made by a friend of a friends tuner that eek out power, but I never see anything concrete, or repeatable. I haven't seen too many extravagant builds that bump compression, most people just stroke it to 2.3, and sometimes 2.7L, and slap some ITB's on it. Those motors pump out 300whp+ which is pretty nice considering. I just boost the damn thing and still come out ahead of the N/A guys.
There is a ivtec f20-22 right now. Supposedly it makes good power. The guy isn't talking right now because of a magazine deal, so I hope he's not just talking garbage.

i-VTECing an S2000 is a hype maneuver. The way you row the gearbox on those things, the VTC can't keep up.
-
I agree. The way you drive an S is balls out. Everyone bitches about the bottom end, but the car stays above 6k if your beating it right. I just thought it was neat as a technical challenge.
Can I tell you, my 9lbs flywheel and HDSS clutch makes for some stupid fast shifts without even slamming it. Not to mention a counter sunk shiftknob on an already short shifting transmission turns it into a toggle switch. I can hit all six gears with my arm resting on the console.
