how fucking...I'm speechless...some people need their teeth knocked out with a crowbar. how can they even sell that stuff anyone buying it would know who's it was. you could never take the car to the track you'd get beat down when you opened the hood.

You need 2 things in today's society to keep the thieves at bay

-Gated work area
-Security aka dogs

Ever since I got smart and started actually locking up my gate and having my 2 dogs run the yard nothing has happened and nothing will. Sucks but lesson learned i guess keep your shit safe or someone will take it. When my shop got broken into they took maybe 500 bucks worth of stuff and left the big ticket items behind.

I should of taken a page from the old school junkyard dudes with rotties and pitbulls roaming the yards at night. Anyone who wants to go into a gated area with agressive dogs better bring a gun to kill them. Plus the barking will make any thief run.

Sounds like a inside job since they brought a truck and took awhile to load up engines/turbo kits etc

Rules for owning a shop and keeping it safe:

1. Gated no open bull shit to the street
2. Dogs/Dogs/Dogs. My 85 pound asshole of a pitbill/great dane is about the smartest thing I ever did for security.
3. Lights/Radio on the shop 24/7 with security lights on always
4.Security system
5. Strapped. Anyone who comes into your shop knows and you must assert yourself as a business man who will kill.

Will this turn off alot of people yes but those people will be thieves. Normal joe will appreciate the mean pitbulls keeping his shit safe.

Most of the time(99 percent) when shops gets broken into its people on foot so they fit what they can in bags. So they will get off with a fair amount but not a fuckin shop full of parts

To bring a fuckin truck and load engine swaps means this was an inside job. No doubt in my mind.

Find out where he gets these "smokin' deals". :?:

Then find out who he is buying these deals and turn in these thieves. ;D

His shit will turn up one of these days. It deff, a bummer to lose all that time/effort put int all that stuff. Insurance should cover some of it. But did he not have an alarm on his shop? Fuck man hes in Tacompton, I would sleep at my shop if I had one. Nothing but scummy fucks down there for the most part.

Insurance on stuff like this seems iffy at best if you will be covered. Insurance companies are shady most likely due to everyone being frauds these days. The shops personal stuff will be covered if they have insurance.

Im thinking no alarm since it would take atleast 10 minutes to load up engines etc.

The Honda crowd wants to act like low lifes you then have to protect yourself. One of my buddies in the bay area who runs a shop has a loaded glock at his desk. There is also another glock in the shop area. Calm laid back Asian guy but I have no doubt he will blast a intruder. This is what you get dealing with the Honda scene in most areas. Its kinda sad because your suppose to be professional but things like this change people usually for the better. Business is business and having to many people around you is a bad thing.

Yeah, I agree with Chris. I know people with shops that invite a few friends over after hours. But then a few other people show up, friends of friends. People you don't know. And on down the road, they come back and break in and steal shit. Business is business. And dogs are the single best thing you can have to protect your shop. I used to work at a lawnmower shop and every christmas people would break in to steal a go-cart. Like 3-4 break ins between dec. 20-24. Every year. Put a new chain link fence up with the wire on top, new doors, motion sensors. Next year they cut the fence, broke the garage door, and stole shit anyways. Alarm went off, but it takes like 30 minutes before the police showed up. Now they have a few big ass dogs up there. Theft went to almost nothing after that.

"A couple of these would pull a premium a week before Race Wars."

Sounds exactly like Payn Tech break-in.

NSX race stuff was stolen along with mechanics tool boxes. FYI a shops insurance doesn't cover and employees tools.

Ryder or Penske?

Thanks for the support guys.

We just found out that another tenant (non-automotive related) in our business complex was also burglarized in the same manner over the same weekend. They didn't discover it until today!

So it appears that we weren't specifically targeted, probably some crackheads.

My topmount manifold has "SPEEDFACTORY" CNC engraved into the head flange as well as having a unique runner configuration, so it should be easily identified, not to mention my valvecover.

Things are being handled on our end. We will find out who did it, it always comes out in the end. You can't hide something like this forever. Taking all that custom stuff is just plain stupid.

Inside job or someone close is usually the first guess, but this wasn't an inside job, everyone from the shop was out of town on vacation over the weekend.

They didn't have to disassemble anything, all the parts were stacked in bins/boxes, and the H22 swap was all together complete. So 3-4 guys with a pickup could've taken it all in 2-3 minutes.

Without going into too much detail, we have 7 bays in 2 seperate buildings, and they failed to setup the sirens and link the buildings alarms like we requested. Let's just say that we are very heated with the alarm company for failing to set up the alarm in the manner that we requested, and they won't be making any more mistakes like that again.  >:(

Unfortunately we can't fence off our location and have dogs, but there are apartments directly across the street with ~30-40 units that have a direct line of sight to our building, and it's a small city so police response time is pretty fast.

Please let me know if anyone here catches wind of any of these parts!

I would almost recommend moving to a location that is gated and will allow a security dog if allowed

The one off stuff for sure is going to pop up and will be the red flag for sure.

Best of luck I know when my shop got broken into I was mot myself for some time till I felt safe again. The 2 dogs who guard my place have set me at peace.

Exactly like that? $200 is awful cheap for a top-mount. I'll buy it back from you, since thats what it seems to take to get your stuff back nowadays.   :P

It sucks, but like you said it makes you change things for the better. It just sucks spending thousands on all this security crap.

If someone were to come in and try an armed robbery, we've got that covered in several different aspects - the local police department actually advised us to strap up so we took their advice. I'm not a fan of guns myself though, so I personally keep a katana nearby at all times.

There usually has to be a tool crib that they are locked inside of, IIRC.  Maybe it changes state by state, I'm no expert.

Not quite sure how to take your comments.

"Incriminating posts"? Are you insinuating that we are trying to commit insurance fraud?

Everything I stated is factual, and so what if we keep our parts organized and in bins to keep some order to the shop?

Most of us were together at the dunes for the weekend, and the other 2 were with family/friends at their cabin.
As for the alarm situation, it was alarmed(siren), but the alarm company failed to link it to their monitoring system. There are plenty of phone/cell phone/debit and/or credit card records to confirm all of this.

So what exactly do I need to be worried about here? I am well aware that insurance fraud is commonplace and that they look for that kind of thing. I'm glad they do, it's just another form of theft. You can't find that someone defrauded you when they didn't.

I did. he wants to talk shit about me and my business he can go fuck himself.

The thread in tech was simple. Joshmo or whatever his user name here now is talks about how he wants to rev to the sky on his turbo d16z6 since it has vitara pistons and how high he can continue to run his motor while his valves are floating into mars.

I simply answered the inferior stock top end of the sohc honda motor will not allow such things. I locked the thread

Then StanB decides to call me a pussy/insult my business for locking a thread that is fuckin retarded. A simple google search on valve float would of given the poster an answer in 2 minutes.

Essentially I locked a thread that is about as dumb as asking how do I turbo a motor and the guy decides to attack the Admin of the site.

Thats it. Nothing more to the story. Im sorry if I run the site and lock a thread for total stupidity is too much for someone well they don't belong.

I didnt attack anyone in the thread I locked it for stupidity which if anyone read what the original poster posted I think any mod would of done the same.

He went ape shit over nothing. So you want to act like a fool and attack me cool you can leave. I have been doing this shit way too long to be told I dont know what Im doing.

I continue to design unique products and work on these bastard motors/cars 6-7 days a week.

I have ran tech forum on both sites that way and will continue. Questions that are far from any worth of people posting and spending time arent worth keeping in tech.
