well i was trying to get it to generate a table and its taking like 2 hours. of course my computer
is being super gay and slow so i was thinking maybe if i register it, it'll work faster.
im also trying to delete things.
does anyone know if we need J2SE for megasquirt or mlv or jaw stuff.

What sort of laptop is it, specs? Ctrl+Alt+Del, can you tell me what the commit charge is at the bottom of the box that pops up?
Winkey+R, type "msconfig" and hit enter. Go to startup and disable everything except your antivirus, it'll not let all the stupid shit boot up in the background when you restart your laptop and without it hogging ram/performance you'll be zippier.
-
its a vaio old school one. nv170. like really old. commit charge is 257208k/640864k
ok whats winkey haha.
im sitting here with my laptop in front of me.
-
ok i fuckin figured that shit out.
holy shit. EVERYTHING was enables. damnit.
i hope this works.

If it's an old machine with only 256Mb RAM, and your HD is nearly full or badly fragmented, it can cause that problem.
-
it was way faster. thanks alot man. you know how long ive been putting that off cause it just bogged down my computer.
the datalog file was huge tho.
i got to analyze my first datalog ever and accept the new table.
cant wait to plug it in and see if its any better.

After running MS2E for two years, I had several gigs worth of MS related shit on my computer. I ended up saving a few things that were important (like 60 mega bytes) and deleting the rest of the shit. Also, I'm running the older version as it works as good as the newer version without constanty asking for registration shit. I put the newer stuff one a while back and was like WTF. Uninstalled it and and put the older one back on.a And I've heard something-tunix > megatune.

Even with higher end computer gear I try to avoid large datalog files. If there's a glitch in the log, or the file is large, the computer can stumble or grind at it for a while which is annoying and makes the whole tuning process a chore. Just log what you need to, and keep the logs no longer than you need them to be.
-
yeah that log was way too long.
so i plugged the given table in today on the way home from work and it was
quite a bit better. picked up full boost earlier and harder.
i tried to datalog that table as well but i think the computer died early.
