well i found a "2005 Nissan Xterra SE" that i realy like. there asking $14,994 with 53,000 miles on it. just woundering what you guys think of the car. and if its a good deal.. of course when the time comes i'll ask for less then the asking price. just wanted to get your opinion on this SUV. gonna go check it out tomorrow.. i've done my homework on the car.. looks like the trade in value is right under 12,xxx.. and the carfax is clean. so getting it for 13-13.5 shouldnt be to hard.
have always loved the body style. anyone work at a nissan dealer ship and could give me any info on reliability and everything else.. i've heard good things myself.
the car...

I've heard good things abotu them, ive had 2 friends with one and both loved them. Never seemed to really give them any problems. One was brand new and they had it for like 20 or 30 before someone hit em and totaled it. other was used with like 50K on it.
-
I have no clue how much this will help. but the only experience i have ever had with these was when a friends brother had one. and they got it brand new, and within a few months it had started rusting on the rear panels. top of the wheel wells.
the dealership took it back and they got something else. so who knows if it was just a lemon.
-
Some of them had the KA24 in it, IIRC, solid engine.
I drove one once. Not the fastest thing ever, but it had a comfy yet competent truck feel to it. But I'm sure you know that already.
-
Those things have 0 power. I wouldn't own one.
-
is it 4wd?, if its 2 wheel fuck that
that being said, the last body style rav4 is awesome
-
How much more is the supercharged version?
-
The 05 should have the newer 4.0l VQ.That is a nice motor makes great tq and should be pretty reliable.
-
Noel, my brother in law had one and loved it so much he traded it in for a new one. The only issue he ever had in 100k was the wires on the top of the fuel sender corroded. Nothing else was ever done to the truck besides maintenance.
-
I did a pair of head gaskets in one of those, every exhaust bolt, stud, nut half threaded off and piled up and it wasn't even rusty. I bought a new mani from nissan and then nothing lined up, one of the worst jobs I have ever done.

The only engine offered in the Xterra (the four-cylinder option has been deleted) will be the 4.0-liter V-6 from the Frontier and Pathfinder, which amounts to a stroked 350Z V-6. Although the new Xterra has put on a few pounds, the revvy VQ40 sends 265 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque to either a six-speed manual or sturdy five-speed automatic, the latter a version of the Titan/Armada transmission.
stout engines. lots of scoot. truck-like mpg
THe older ones suck though. Friend has one and it's slower than a 4 cylinder camry full of mexicans towing a 18 yd^3 dumping trailer full of shingles.

Don't they have a turbo version?

Holy shit, a mod needs to come in here and delete all of c0mpl3x's posts.

We rented one for vacation a few years back. Having two adults ride in the backseats somewhere in the vicinity of ~1000 miles altogether was rough (I can't remember if it was my head, or my knee, that kept getting hit off of something and hurting) but the vehicle rode really nice and was quick enough and had more than enough cargo space for all 4 of us to go on vaca. I liked it.

eh 2/3 of them are factual, the other one being opinion, I think its ok :P

2/3rds are repeating what other people have already said like it needs to be repeated.
-
I have a 07 Frontier with the same engine. Makes good power for a mid size truck. The only problem I've had in 110k miles is the Fuel Level sensor going bad. $40 dollar fix...
There was a problem with Frontiers in 05 where coolant was leaking into the transmission somehow. Not sure if X-terra's had the same issue...

i'm the only one to give any amount of non-personal opinion in this thread with facts involved.
the only thing you give is spilled rum key punching

well just got back from checking out the car.. i would have to say this thing is mint, started right up(fom cold start), no rust anywhere, nothing leaking at all, drived great (surprisingly very smooth ride), new tires and brakes and was pretty powerful.
didnt want to give him the impression i was to interested so i said i would call if the other cars dont pan out(fake ones i gave him :P )
just gotta check the insurance out, try and get a decent loan rate.. and hopefully have it by this weekend.
thanks for comments, came in handy..
now i just gotta find a way to slap a turbo on it :mexi: fuck that :P
