So I have a si(pl3-9000) transmission that doesn't work and a dx(pl3-a100) transmission that does. I do not like the queer 3.8 FD. Can i take the si diff and final drive out put 35mm bearings on it and make it fit?
EDIT: or should i take the dx gear set and put it in the si case with the si FD?
-
i would assume that would work fine.
but i will let bone come in here and do his thing.

main shaft

main shaft
What about it? will it not fit?
-
how are you going to put 35mm bearings on a 40mm diff?
-
that's what i was thinking the problem would come in. the dimensions of the differential are different not just the bearings?
Will the A100 gearset fit into the si case with the si fd?
-
where is mistabone?
-
just run 5 more psi and forget about this nonsense
-
you'll have to swap the ring gear onto the small diff, then swap countershafts.
That means stripping them both and swapping JUST the countershaft.

i meant counter shaft in my earlier post

only a 9.8% gearing advantage by changing the FD.......turn the boost up :)
-
so how diff are the gears between a dx and a si i have a dx and was going to buy a si but fuck if its not that big a diff the im not fucking with it..

see post above yours.

well dx it is then hahah
