Ok... so I have a dead p28, injector section is burnt up, and Im using all the pieces off it to convert a 11f0 PO6 to VTEC... Frankenstein style. Got all but one piece i need from the p28...Q101? Cant find it on the board anywhere. Am I just not seeing it? Can I just use another transistor from somewhere else on the board. None of em have matching numbers to the one I need(B1030). Any help?

FYI, I've never seen a Honda injector driver burnt up. Usually two hold themselves on due to Q31/C14 damage caused by swapping IAT plug with purge or IACV. I've never bothered to fix said problem as these boards are usually damaged, and I just use them for parts as I have jumperwire-fests.

doesnt seem worth the effort to me. vtec kits are cheap

Free is a quality overcoming many faults.
PS - remember your place on the food chain. If you ever advocate buying something over geekery again I'll drive to your house and fist your mother.

She'd like it, too.

sorry sir. next time i am out of solder, i will use jb weld to hold my chipping kit in rather than buying more solder.

That's the spirit? If you could get your naked sister to hold the ECU in one hand, while spreading herself with the other hand, I couldn't think of a better tech post. :noel:

i will see what i can do. cant promise anything since i dont have a sister. i will get someones sister to do it though

We are willing to work with you on this matter. :noel:

So a P30 with a code for IAT that runs in limp mode is probably not worth investigating?
I was about to start picking through it using the p28 prints assuming it was an easy fix.
Or are you meaning the board itself is usually burned and that's why its not worth fixing?

Look at Q31/C14, you tell me.
-
Q31/C14 board area both look fine but in my car it is an injector code not IAT like I was told. Sounds like its only running on 2 or 3 cylinders to confirm. Not sure I know enough to understand that area of the schematic but I'll save it to pick through one day.
I hate when people bring an ecu to be chipped and don't tell you they already cooked it until after your test fails

Thanks JD, thats the link is was looking for. Page didnt really help me exactly but answered some questions I had. Frankensteined PO6/P28 works great. Heres some pics of the ECU i pulled parts from. Told you the whole injector area was burnt. ;)

WTF, it was free, a new homemade project, and didnt have the time to wait for shipping. Guess what, ebay turbo kits are cheap also but id rather build my own. eat a dick.

If I recall correctly the injector test circuitry just checks to see that the +12V from the injectors is pulled to ground *when* the driver is actuated. Basically, all the voltage is dropped across the injector so there's ~0 volts across the driver and ground. Most likely the driver itself is fucked up. Two of those inline brick ICs are injector drivers, the third controls other minor actuators like I forget offhand and some other stuff. P28.pdf tells all.
And, ex-Boosted_Stinkynuts, that's fucked up I've never seen that happen before. Pretty cool, in it's way, though.

i will see what i can do.
Bump, this guy failed. Is it Wednesday yet?

damn, i forgot all about that shit. i did actually try to make it happen but then a realized that i dont know any girls that anyone would want to see naked. than i came up with this. its not an ecu, but it is quite nerdy.

Glad to see this thread. I had my P28 act the fuck up, and bought a P06 to replace it. Good to know I can rob parts to convert to VTEC, so I can up the value of this damn ECU.
