Title: Mini-Me help
Post by: karsonsdaddy on October 05, 2009, 08:20:55 PM
Alright. I am getting so much closer to boosting... Just a few more little things i want to get done first.

I just did my half size radiator (pics of my ghetto-fabulous setup later) now I'm wanting to do my z6 head swap. I know that I need a head gasket and timing belt for the z6, but will my a6 intake mani work? Also will I be alright with head bolts from autozone (I haven't priced them yet) or should I fork up the 120 for ARP bolts? I'm not planning on running more than 10-12 lbs so I'm hoping cheaper bolts will work.

I know that the a6 dist. will work on the z6 head but i will have to clamp it on or whatever because it doesn't line up, but will I have to convert to OBD1 to have Vtec?

Your white and dumb. My race much better than you. You cant make vtech work. i make vtech work on non vtech motor with vtech wires.

You race for pinks. I have k20 with 46 psi with stock motorz. Mugen mounts too.

you need headstuds. if you cant afford them then you may as well not boost your car its just gonna cost more down the road when you have to replace another headgasket.

you need obd1 for vtec.

sounds like you need to leave the stock head on there because your clearly going to half ass it otherwise.

Uhh.... i dont see why it shouldnt be in tech. Guy could've done a simple 2 minute google search for most of his questions but that doesn't make it belong in GD

I suck at posting porn... Everytime I try to post a pic it comes up a link... I'm not computer smart at all

I will go with the ARP studs... I can afford it just didn't know if it would be necassary

and I will convert to obd1 if need be. Just haven't found an ecu and dist for less than 200 locally

honestly.  you can learn a lot from my build thread

you can learn alot of what not to do from jay as well  like make a car take 3 years to make  :-* or my favorite "How to" make your car NOT start 101"  :noel:

if your so broke you cant afford some arp studs, how the F you gonna afford the turbo stuff, unless your a fat ass and gonna steal everything under your gut from the local pull a part.

stupid round eyes make no sence.

Bump for answers.  This cat is asking fundimental questions the like of which I've never discovered the answers to, and it obviously scares everybody here that he's onto something groundbreaking.
