Title: lol... is my wagovan broken?
Post by: turbohf on October 22, 2009, 09:47:29 PM
so my wagovan is a piece of shit.

on the way home today i was noticing its serious lack of wanting to go into gear. from a dig, and on a roll. get it into gear it would make an odd ass noise. probaly a little grind going in. then make another probably squeeking noise releasing the clutch...

i got home took a peak underneath to see if it was spitting out pieces of clutch or something cool, doenst look like it. i spun the adjuster on the clutch cable down some to get some more tension on it. clutch pedel feels better now. seemed like it made it all better, down the driveway all good, out on the street good, 2nd gear, third? same shit. then didnt wanna go into second, funny noise on start in 1st when turning around...

so wtf? is my clutch done for or something? never had this shit before. doesnt seem to slip at all, like yesterday went all the way to redline no issues, got enough grab on the clutch to shake the shit out off the motor/dash... but im gonna guess its hitting the rivets and thats what im experiencing??

not 100% sure but my car had the same symptoms when my rivets that hold the hub plate to the clutch sheered off, car would make a funny noise letting the pedal out and kinda jerked, but the clutch didn't slip at all. then i was driving down the freeway and it just stopped moving, found my rivets were put in by a blind 6 year old Chinese kid that welds ssac manifolds without a helmet. but also my trans input shaft bearing makes a loud squealing noise because its fucked but only when my pedal is out and in 5th. so its something with the clutch most likely. i have a Chinese zoom 6 puck unsprung from the summit catalog, fucking works good now that i tap and died the basplate and put grade 8 bolts thew it then cut the bolts down and tig welded them to the plate lol O0

clutch spit a spring

If it's partially stuck out, and not completely free, I've had luck getting them to pop back in.  They pop out again, but you can maybe milk it for 50 extra miles before clutchtime.

I got 4000 miles after fixing one, and only because it got oil on it some fucking how. Slipped above 2psi, and anytime in 5th.

On mine there was enough metal on the tabs to probably use it a few thousand on hope and a prayer. Took some thicker sheet metal, welded on new tabs, and she was good to go. It had rounded the outside edges of the crank bolts before I fixed it. :?:

One time my buddy had this problem on his CRX and after I pulled the tranny I figured out that the plastic around the clutch cable had broke and nothing was holding it to the fire wall. Just a thought

I just did a clutch last month with this problem. all 4 springs had fallen half way out. and a piece of the metal that holds the spring in was stuck between the friction surfaces.

I had this happen on my prelude, I drove it longer then i probably should have. The spring poped out and fucked the flywheel bolts up so you wouldnt be able to get them off. I slammed a new disc in and sold the car  :noel:
