I guess I'll go against the grain here.  I dig it.  I would like to see a non-hybrid version offered as an Si though.

Pretty excited, but I dunno that I could bring myself to buy one brand new.

percisly.  The only thing cool about my delsol is the ZC.  Other then that, it is a piece of shit.  I have been trying to pawn that pile off on somebody else for over a year , yet the car is such a piece of shit I can't even do that, so, once again as JD said, for all other then 1g, CRX FUCK YOU.  And just to be clear, I do have both.

I'd like to point out that the 55mm main F/H motors are OBD2 (I think they are pieces of shit, but Spiker will fuck you for disregarding them little boy), as are Y8 transmissions.  And, aside from the D16Y/OBD2 one-two combo of failure, the non-EM1 96-00 Civic are pretty fucking alright.  These years also encompass the majority of the DC-chassis era, and those cars may be fucking ugly but they ride sweet and hook better than about any other Honda FWD chassis. Oh, yeah, one other thing FUCK YOU.

I don't see a G2 CRX...

G2 CRX > G1 CRX although both are infinitely better than the Del Sol.

That is all.

I agree also that 96-00 Civics are pretty alright.  I finally own one, and although it is not the prettiest thing in the world, it is a sweet little ride for a DD.

88 hatch.  Close enough.  I still disagree about the 2g.  I much perfer the swith arm and torsion bar to the newer suspension of the 88+ hondas.  Also sheer lack of weight in the 1G owns all!

Since when is a 3G Civic hatchback the same as a 2G CRX?  They are not the same animal, close but not the same.  I can attest to that since I do happen to have both.  Funny thing is, I think I prefer the ED hatch over the CRX these days.  Mreh.

 ;D

IMO, the only thing a 1G has on a 2G is the weight advantage, but this is quickly escalating into a bench racing session.

Don't you have a twin engine AWD Civic to build?

Post by: Joseph Davis on October 26, 2009, 07:07:16 PM
There is no 1G weight advantage between 1G and 88-89 Si models.

I've owned both and driven everything Honda on the planet, the 1G CRX beats the panties off of the 2G.

lol I actually agree with you on the timeline. However I actually like the car. The FIT/Oddesy "cartoony" front end is ugly as sin, same for the 7th gen Civics. The del sol is fun to drive, but feels rickety as hell. Mine beater has 170k on it, stock b16a3.

What I'd want to do is buy a theft-recovered CR-Z where the batteries/engine were removed, register it in a non-emissions county, and swap in a b-series. I'm guessing it will be like the FIT's mac. strut/torsion bar suspension, but that can be fixed too.

They're marketing the CR-Z as a "sport hybrid"...

I can't wait until people start swapping the electric drive portions from the hybrid Accords, upgrading the battery packs, tweaking the software...

Electric motors will be the new turbo.

Then add a turbo...

You better fucking meen that dsm's on it roof. You don't just sell Fowee's SI.  you drive it for years with the bad part throttle miss and talk about fixing it but you never do because your to busy getting the heat to work in your house for the cold winter we had two years ago.
Title: Re: CR-Z confirmed
Post by: Joseph Davis on November 02, 2009, 12:50:27 AM
The part throttle miss was due to serious corrosion between cap and plug wire.  It still breaks up when cold and idles like it has a cam, but pulls smooth at all loads and speeds.

BTW, Robb means flipped as in this is how the car was parked two days ago:
