Why does it not read the first time around like it use to? wtf is this shit. I have to open and close the tray about 20 times before it'll read. How do I fix this? I got it in December of last year, is it still under warranty?

how the fuck are we suppose to know if it's under warranty or not? call microshaft. also, you can get drives on eBay if it's not under warranty. get one already flashed or easily flashable to ixtreme, so you can download & burn games ftmfw

I'd imagine that if there is a factory warranty then it is a known standard amount of time. So, its under 1 year old so does it still have a factory warranty... its really not a difficult question. How long is the factory warranty?

Google, mother fucker! do you use it?

did you ever register it? if not, do it now. then wrap it in a towel and leave it on until it red rings, then just send it in.

Ive never known a 360 that wasn't warrantied. since there consoles have problems so much they usually take them back and fix them for free.

+1. I sent back a 3 year old 360 (red ring-o-death) and it was warrantied... shipping paid to and from the factory ;)

Mine did the same thing. What I did to "Fix" it was took apart the case and removed the dvd drive. Make sure you undo and reconnect all the ribbon cables associated with the dvd drive (this means the ribbon cables inside the dvd drive too). I did that and cleaned the thing with duster and all is well now. Its been working for about three months. I ASSume there is a bad connection on one of these cables and all I did was just freshen up the connection.
There are plenty of write ups and youtube videos on how to get the case apart. Good luck.

don't remove the warranty sticker by taking it apart.. you'll void it. try talking to microsoft first
