Title: Friend (no longer) stuck in Bellevue... Kia failed
Post by: Kenny Rogers on October 29, 2009, 02:09:24 PM
(EDIT: It's been fixed... main relay)

I can't really do shit from Bremerton (almost 2 hours away).

- Died several times in stop & go traffic when the clutch was pushed in
- Won't start now (after maybe a dozen kills)
- Battery is so dead the hazards won't turn on

SO, she had it towed to a shop in Bellevue, trying not to get assraped by the mechanic.  I think it's strictly the battery... alternator showed no signs of trouble before this incident.  Now she's at the shop and they're trying to jump it... no luck.  I'm thinking the battery is so shitty it won't even hold a charge.

They want to replace the starter and blah, blah, blah.  I think it's unnecessary.  I say battery first, alternator second, then look at other BS.

Thoughts or any other possible culprits I'm overlooking?

I told her to tell them that... we'll see.

Awesome.  Hopefully they're somewhat competent.

Edit: She is at Mercer Island Service Center

These guys seem to be idiots.  They got it started after juicing the battery for a while and let it idle for an hour while they ate lunch, then tell my friend it's possibly a fuel issue.  They also pointed out that "something probably came loose, they're going to check everything to make sure it doesn't come loose again".  :?:  Morons.  Sounds like complete bullshit to have the car sitting around the shop getting labor hours.

Edit: They may have taken a while, but it was the main relay, replaced for FREE.  Not a bad shop after all.

I hate when they do that shit.  Everyone from Honda-Tech knows that JB Weld is more expensive than filler rod, and is therefore the only way to go.

youre trying not to get ass raped but you had it towed to bellevue.

worst thing you could've done. i think the second you cross into bellevue everything
is marked up 125%.

also if its just a battery why are you having it towed.
walk how ever many miles it is to the store and buy and batter and steal a shopping cart.

She's married... to a sailor.... in Bremerton.

Bremelo n. (Breh - meh - low): term popularized by Sir Mix Alot to describe a large, unattractive woman who resides in or frequents the city of Bremerton, WA to establish "relations" with Navy personnel.
