Title: Using cam holders/caps from another head?
Post by: Jorsher on November 12, 2009, 04:19:58 PM
Anyone ever done it?

I know it's not recommended since they're bores are machined with each head and will be different head-to-head...but I need to get my car running as I'm unemployed and almost broke.

I'm missing only the two on the cam gear side...I have the middle ones and the distributor side pair.  Anyone have a couple for a b16 layin around?

Just measure the clearances like you would on the bottom end.

Ghetto way make sure the cams rotate easily when the caps are bolted down to spec.

Clean up the surface with scotch brite pads

Will do.

Figured as long as it doesn't bind it'd be "OK."

Ok.

Anyone have a pair laying around?

Chris - still plan to check out the ECU just been dealing with moving after I got evicted from my apartment for my "aggressive breed."

Fuckers.
