Title: Music Player software
Post by: 97Econobox on November 18, 2009, 10:21:06 AM
So i gots lots o music n shit and i want something i can use to manage it all.  I really like how Music Match would group all the artists together and allow for me to mark a genre and or rate teh track or album.  I also like how when i pop a CD in most of the time it will hit the internet and look up all teh track info.  Playlists are also awesoem in music Match as its just drag and drop but the cons to this program are a bitch.  I can backup my playlist files and i cant import new ones, also the program itself is rather shitty.  Ive installed the damn thing well over a dozen times and id say Half the time something doesnt work.  CD look up, or recording from CD's or playing music from an external HD. whatever teh case its a shitty program as far as reliability, you just never know whats gonna work,  Once you climb over 10 gigs it gets all retarded.

Cliff notes:  Somebody suggest a good Music playing program that i can create playlists and back them up and organizes tracks.  Fuck iTunes, Fuck Media Player and MusicMatch was written by autistic 7 year olds.

any DJ's here?  what do you guys use?

as much as i dont want to say it, itunes does all of that shit and is pretty damn reliable.

i hate it myself, but there is nothing wrong with it. only reason i have it is cause i have an iphone and you cant do anything without itunes

No iTunes isnt even music management IMO.  for starters I cant think of one solid person who only wants to listen to ONE playlist.  the only way you can "make a playlist" is by marking tracks to go in said playlist.  so essenitally you get ONE list.  the track is on it or not.  that Totaly defeats teh purpose of a Play list IMO.

The ONLY thing iTunes if good for is File converting.  Not to mention the whole you can sort by the Giant name or the giant name.  I want to sort by genre or albnum or artist or artits and Albums.

Plus i only want Music software not software/quicktime/whatever else they want you to have.  I used iTunes like a year ago and i just basicly looked at it and could tell it didnt do squat.  the interface is just awful and so plane jane basic it seemed like once you had more than like 10 different artists or 10 different albums its just a giant page of text.

i dont care about playlists and shit. i play everything i have randomly all the time.

i love going from "damn it feels good to be a gangster" to "ring of fire" or other just as far apart songs.

i havent even heard everything i have. sometimes i like the name of something and i download it without checking it out. it plays eventually.

Ill have to check out the newer stuff but i didnt like it back in 2000 cause it didnt play well with pretty much any other media software.  i had a compaq and it fucked me pretty good after an install.

I do remember it had useful features though, ill give the new shit a look.

Your face.

the compaq wasnt my fail.  in 11th grade your choices are limited and it was what granny had so its what i used.  Personaly she loved games from bareshare.  the pc was never right so honestly who knows if it was screwed by Bareshare or WinAmp, but i didnt like it at the time.

unrelated: your bald.  just wanted to state it again as i think it has not been said nerly enough.

Media Monkey Gold    Lists files in any way you'd like, even lists files that need edited or non matching ID3 tags. Auto tags according to filename, finds album covers, and even auto tags missing ID3 info from the web based on other info. Finds duplicates using filesize and name instead of name alone so you don't delete live albums.  And it's free if you play your cards right.
